Has passed away from cancer aged 74. Chairman of the club for seven years, 1997-2003. Oversaw the 2000 Premiership, the attempted coup against Sheedy in 1998 and also the move to (then) Colonial Stadium. Goes without saying he was also a great Essendon supporter.

that is sad news, help set up Essendon as one of the financial powerhouse clubs of the AFL, he use to be a large bloke, but looked a lot more healthy in that picture then when he was at Essendon.

Having seen a few people go through the same illness and hearing how he approached it i have even more respect for the man.

Thoughts are with his family.

Yeah, it's a bugger of a way to go. Seen it close up and personal, very very tough. He did damn well to last 16 months, pancreatic cancer doesn't take any prisoners.

Yeah, a close family friend of ours succumbed to pancreatic cancer on NYE 2012 - a real shit of a thing with no cure at this stage.
