"An avid fan of the Carlton Football Club, she kept a positive outlook all her life, despite spending up to 21 hours a day in the metal device which kept her alive. Her amazing survival was listed in the Guinness Book of Records".

Remarkable woman.

Makes you wonder why some choose to see clubs torn down, kicked out, go bust, just because of a football rivalry, when to some people that club is literally the main thing that keeps them going.

People should think about that next time they feel vindictive enough to fabricate things to push an agenda.

Having all of the current players faces on the lid of her iron lung .... that is bloody awesome June. What a legend. Carlton for ever!!!!

I;ve seen stories of June over the years and yes what a woman...regardless of her footy colours. Talk about dealing with whatever the cards have dealt, polio since 1949, I think Yooralla have supported her so they do an enormous job for these people. And for her love of the navies, which undoubtedly kept her going...June may you live in Blue Heaven and I hope that Round 1 we deliver you a robust win !! :footy:

An absolute champion human being. When people whinge about how bad their lives are because of some trivial little matter they should all be shown the story of June and how she got on with life with courage that most of us would never be able to find.

God speed June, I am sure there is a special place in heaven for you.
Say hello to Dick for us!

It is a shame that we need our dying to tell us how to live

Not sure if you borrowed that from somewhere else or if it is yours, but that is an awesome quote. Mind if I borrow it for a signature?

I just like the hindsight sentiments. I have a sign on my wall at work that says 'welcome to the world of afterthought.' I know and accept that not everything is going to go to plan, but that's life and you can't go back and change it. Just try to make the best of it at the time. We sometimes forget that but I have to say, my deviations away from common sense tend to measured in minutes fortunately.

Ignore the above, I was just testing out the signature.

June was my Mum's cousin
She loved Carlton and my son and grandson have followed in her footsteps as Carlton supporters
She will be sadly missed by family and friends and I know my Dad will be very upset when we tell him
To all those close to her, my thoughts are with you

What an amazing woman...the strength of the human spirit always amazes me.
The way some people when thrust into adversity can continue on with their spirits high, and barely a moment of self pity, whilst others will throw throw the towel in at the first sign of trouble.

RIP June you were an inspiration .

Such a pity we couldn't win another flag before her passing. This club is what kept her going and she is a true inspiration to supporters. R.I.P June.

To endure what she had to, day in day out is truly amazing. If I had half the courage she had I'd be happy. I really hope the club pays her the respect she deserves by wearing black armbands for the first game.

R.I.P June, you truly desrve it.
