This summer, Michael Vaughan's been spinning them like Warnie the way he's been trying to put a spin on every one of England's failures for the past 6 months

A couple of weeks ago it was Duncan Fletcher's fault, now their World Cup failure is apparently down to one off field incident that made them too serious and tense, instead of them just being plain shit at the One Day game.

What's he gonna blame next time?

He's acknowledged his own failures and simply named the incident (not Freddie) as one of the reasons why they stuffed up.

Don't think there's anything wrong with that at all, and the headline is just pure spin and sensationalism.

Vaughan also complained that he didn't get enough input into the Ashes campaign despite being sidelined. Perhaps he's using his successful return to push his own barrow.

Michael Vaughan denies that Michael Vaughan has gone too far by criticising Andrew Flintoff and would like to point out that Michael Vaughan has always told it 'like it is' and that's what's allowed Michael Vaughan to be a sucessful captain of Michael Vaughan's England Cricket Team™.

Mr Vaughan is becoming Mr. Sanctimonious. And SA did pretty well against the poms after getting pissed until all hours of the morning.

Michael Vaughan says that 'it's not all about Michael Vaughan you know, there are 10 other players in Michael Vaughan's England side & every one of them is fully commited to Michael Vaughan going down in history as the best England captain ever'.

How I despise those who talk in the 3rd person, Lennox Lewis does it as well, BF veteran poster Dipper is far too humble to ever go down that road, Dipper is a man with the common touch.

Except KP does it and he's allowed to.:)

Actually the only time I admired a sportsman talking in the 3rd person was when Vitas Guerralitus(sp) had been beaten something like 16 times in a row by Bjorn Borg.

Guerralitus won the 17th encounter & when a reporter asked him about the pressure of getting beaten so many times in a row he said 'Nobody beats Vitas Guerralitus 17 times in a row!'.That still makes me laugh now.

perhaps vaughan needs to have a good look at himself. he has never scored an odi ton.

You wonder how these two will go in the team together again with Vaughan seemingly pushing his own barrow these days. And yawn conveniently forgets about his lack of form.

Another team implodes whilst the Aussies keep winning.

The Aussies played well at the World Cup but is was basically the fact that every other team was substandard that made us look brilliant.

Hopefully someone will get their act together in the next few years.

There's a bit of a spat. Vaughan denied lambasting Freddie but The Guardian has stood by its story and published an audio confirming yawn implicating Flintoff!!

He forgot to mention a lack of talent within the team being the major reason they didnt win the world cup ;)

I would have thought that's more to the point. You'd think after 30 years of mediocrity and failures, the Poms would realise they're not the greatest cricket nation in the world, wouldn't you?

But they still call us the colonials and convicts; they will always be living in the past.

Actually the reality is that this country lives less in the past than most, including Australia.

I'm not saying whether it's good or bad but look at Britain as a country, constant change & evolution & an almost insatiable appetite for getting rid of tradition & convention.

Look at Lords & the MCC, consdered stuufy & conservative & they build a new media centre that looks like a f***ing flying saucer.

As for convincts & colonials, well don't you call us pommies.Old habits die hard.
