IMO our chances tomorrow have taken a big dive with firstly Edwards and now van Berlo out of the St Kilda clash, with our mid-field definitely weakened.

VB is a late withdrawal and will be replaced by Richard Douglas.

Douglas to replace him? Good for Richard and possibly the right choice

But why not Broadie Martin as he was the emergency?

IMO this is more evidence that the AFC name players as emergency listing as a ‘pick me up’ or incentive to keep working harder. Same as they did with James Seller to keep working harder. As Martin and van Berlo would be ‘like for like’ Yes Martin has deserved his emergency listing (not doubting that) but clearly not enough to get selected when needed and have someone come over the top of him.

I remember hearing somewhere that Douglas was on stand by, but didn't say why. Obviously they were waititng to see how VB would pull up today before making the decision. Hopefully Douglas proves himself

With Edwards and Van Berlo out - Porps, Danger, Knights and Douglas will get a run in the midfield.

Douglas would be aware he has been given a second chance and should lift to ensure he keeps his spot for the Showdown next week.

Not in favour in bringing 1st gamers for this type of game - for one they would not have been exposed to the level of pressure these games have. AFC has done it correctly in the past and I have faith they have more know how of doing it as opposed to us.
