Very much against the run of play SA lead
VC 1.0.06
SA 2.1.13
Pretty scrappy affair, lots of handling errors and disposal has been overall poor by both sides.
Hansen started at CHB on Sellar hasn't had much to do as SA havent' gotten the ball into their FWD 50 that often, really only had one real contest where Sellar took a questionable mark out on the lead. At one stage Hansen showed his smarts by bodying his SA opponent off the ball when it was in dispure which nicely cleared some space for his teammate to collect the ball.
Connors is a real swooper, playing on the wing and around HB. ball handling and disposal not great at times, but neither has anybosy elses really, i really like what i have seen of this kid so far in the champs. He is reasonably quick, keeps his feet in the contest and looks to have lots of tools to work with. Would like him at CFC.
M. Brown has presented well and is a strong one grabber too, a nice kick as well
Weeks is strong at this level, one grabber, penetrating kick.
Grigg is ok, but very outside.
Schmidt really impresses me. I know this might raise some eyebrows but i have him in my top 12-15 on what i have seen of him so far. Is bottom aged too. Isn't as skinny as i first thougth, has a good build and doesn't look like he will have issues putting on bulk. Is poised and classy, and a disciplined defender as well.
Players that have impressed me in the first quarter (not necessarily the best players htough)
VC
Connors
M. Brown
Frawley
Hansen
SA
Schmidt
McLEan
Gibbs (hasn't had that much of it, but he oozes class with his decisiuon making and usage)
