Vent - Flu no excuse

But why were they off their normal pace and endurance. It is because we were playing one man down in the forward line every time Hampson rested up forward, or was it because the midfielders couldn't get their hands on the ball first or was it due to the bombardment the defenders were under, which meant they lost their way a little.

The point being is when key players are forced to carry their lesser skilled and experienced team mates they can look more off the pace then if they didn't have to carry team mates. And that its not always down to how their bodies felt with regard to knocks or illness.
Or they were sick and the rest just built up as the night progressed

I actually watched specific players, they were way off their normal pace and endurance
Do you think after the amazing effort we showed against the hawks last week that maybe we were a little cooked combined with a lingering illness?

Look thats possible but i've spoken to a richmond player since the game finished and he laughed at the suggestion but seeing as he wasn't with the travelling squad it is possible that much has changed in the past 24 hours.

Yep ripped into him because of a typical brain fade in the last minute of a game. Yet his weak soft efforts continue to haunt us. By god if i was a coach i would not tolerate the rubbish.

As in the flu? Players had the bug?

Becuase that's what aislegi does, posts reactionary bullshit. Guarantee he didn't post after the win last week.

It's not reactionary at all. In fact, I think you'll find I've been consistently critical of Hardwick. Indeed, I should remember because I've copped plenty of flak for it. Time and again, I have questioned whether he has brought sufficent quality into this line-up or whether he is relying too heavily on the Wallace-era stars. Performances like tonight's only bear that out. We are into the sixth year of his tenure, FFS, and we have achieved precisely jack shit under him. Why should I be happy about that? Moreover, why are you?

Ok mate - name the causes.
No. Not what I really think because it wouldn't be the Tiger way to complain.
I'll just say either
(a) the flu was a factor
(b) the flu wasn't a factor
We can eliminate one of those, but factors other than the presence/absence of flu were always going to be in play.
Don't know whether the Tigers had recovered from the total effort against Hawthorn last week, which was like a final in its intensity.
Do think Adelaide played very well. They must receive credit.
Do have a bitter taste in my mouth, though.

End of the day it doesn't matter, I'm just not melting over the loss if there's a reason
The squad has performed well for most of the year and this game was completely different to how we normally play, to me this game is the exception

So do I, extremely disappointed I am.

I do. (And that does NOT mean I'm marrying you.)

Its a good thing some of our supporters aren't chocolate, would not be pleasant to buy from the supermarket :p

the crows scored 11 - 22. How the **** did we not lose by 60 or 70 points? Consider ourselves lucky and lets move on, quickly! :p
Yes. Coulda been much, much worse. Somehow or other, don't feel lucky. :(

I seriously think its mental when we lose certain matches . Like no one gave us any chance last week against Hawks and what happens we come out and won. Even dimma said it during that week the players were angry about the freo loss and wanted Redemption and it showed in the game against Hawks. Forward on one week we are Favs , we talk about the tough play etc etc and we don't fire a shot . IMO its the psyche of the players that has a lot of what happens on the field.

Yes true , but lets be honest here our club has struggled with it for a while now, we have gotten better but i think it still lingers around at times as like tonights game.
Confidence is a great thing in a sporting team. Witness the All Blacks. Jesus ... to have that!!!

it sure is a great thing in sport.
Imagine ... you go into every game and you know that your WHOLE country is backing you (like the All Blacks). Imagine the Tigers going into every game and knowing ALL supporters were backing them. Ah, well.

I just reckon they actually have a problem mentally in certain games to get themselves up for it.
