Or they were sick and the rest just built up as the night progressedBut why were they off their normal pace and endurance. It is because we were playing one man down in the forward line every time Hampson rested up forward, or was it because the midfielders couldn't get their hands on the ball first or was it due to the bombardment the defenders were under, which meant they lost their way a little.
The point being is when key players are forced to carry their lesser skilled and experienced team mates they can look more off the pace then if they didn't have to carry team mates. And that its not always down to how their bodies felt with regard to knocks or illness.
