Vent - Flu no excuse

The momentum seemed to change when Vickery gave away that free denying us of a probable goal. That guy has issues. You don't do that in front of goals and HE shouldn't be doing it at all.
He has anger issues and I have anger issues towards him. He has mental brainfades far too often. I wouldn't be against trading him.

Didn't see the 2nd half but it sounds like Houli had another bad one. Hampson doesn't belong and we were beaten all over the ground.

On a positive note - our final will be sudden death and the pressure that this team and coaching staff well and truly deserve will be squarely on them and the sporting world will be watching to see how they react.

I made mention on the Hawks board following our loss to you guys last week (well before any Deledio news surfaced) that I had a suspicion that there was a bug going through our team with so many of the team playing with such lethargy.

What was particularly telling was that Lake looked like one of the least lethargic against Richmond but he played exactly like the rest of the Hawks did that night the previous week against Carlton.

And now Richmond have come out with the same lethargy across a lot of their team.

A bit too much to be a coincidence for me. Hopefully it means the Hawks will come out firing like normal tonight and for your sakes that Richmond do the same next week.

The knighting of DH maybe a lot further away than i actually believed. Same old players were exposed again last night.
Can we get better b4 seasons final series.Probably as Lids and sheds will return.
i still see issues in our fools gold players that DH backs in week in week out.
Houli ,Chaplin and TV will not get better so we need to find replacements.
BEllis has upside ,but has issues in his defensive and pressure acts in his game. Reece has upside, but fitness is his worry as well as class
Newman still rocking around well that just about says it all on how much we want to improve and succeed under DH,until a DFA rocks into the side and plays and takes away 18 games from younger talent.
Then Hampson comes up to put me back into reality that we are miles away:mad:

There might be something in that, we were 2 steps behind all game and i was pulling my hair out wondering why they didn't sharpen up after half time. I hope you are right. With that said we did exactly the same thing against West Coast earlier 2 steps behind all game, could just be that we are prone to losing urgency.

one bloke who was close to playing( according to DH presser) goes outwith the flu and suddenly we have an epidemic at PRO.
No excuses please that is what rfc has been doing for 33 years. Man up and iron out the faults in order move on and progress.
We were exposed last night and that's it and as the smart analysts have stated the scoreboard flattered us

Totally agree re Vickery.I cannot accept he is' important part of structure'.
Was a dumb penalty and he should have been hauled off.
Certainly think he should be offered as a trade, prefer Big Ben far more, even Astbury. At least they give it all. Have said all along, Vickery is lazy and dumb.
Dud, trade,delist

Got beaten and is a set back, Top 4 aint going to happen (was doubtful before but wont happen now) . But should only need 2 more winds to at least sneak into finals. Hopefully a good kick up the pants. As for the list, if anyone managed to hear Triple M last night Pre Game, it seems the Club is under no illusions that the list needs to improve as do the Players on the list.

Shit game, shit result. Hopefully bounce back against the Suns. I still question Hardwick, but if they can snag a Final or two then so be it. What stinks is now I have to barrack for the Cola's against the Handbaggers......Need the Dee's to knock off Norf as well.

lol at using flu as an excuse. One bloke had it and he didn't play :D
By the way folks I came down with flu last Thursday night, I mean I've never had a virus hit me like that before it was inside and hour and I was shaking like a leaf and as crook as a dog. So flu IS AN EXCUSE, and if anyone in Richmond had it he wouldn't be able to walk on the ground. I 'm still crook as a dog.

I have no idea what happened to you folks last night , but flu wasn't the cause. You just belted us up a week ago and then crash? .

Constituency has been a problem at Richmond for years. As has been able to win most of the games where the pressure is on Richmond to perform. That's why many people are rightfully reluctant to rate the tigers to do anything of any merit.

Lids had the flu.

Adelaide harassed us like we did to you and we just weren't able to cope.

Deledio is arguably your best ball user, best inside fifty delivery player, best player at bringing others into the play with disposal to advantage and retained possession = arguably your best player.

Deledio makes everyone else better too. That's why Freo tagged him when we still did that, for him to be out of the game is huge.

Huge out.

I called the loss before the game, even the crows supporter next to me said you'll win to which i replied nah im nervous, Deledio isn't playing, he said one guy doesn't make a team.

One guy doesn't make a team but there only so many cogs you can remove before things start to fall apart.

Not only that Adelaide match up pretty well against us, big win against hawthorn, big loss to them against Sydney, they were always going to be pumped and i thought we were going to be a bit flat, no Griffo no Sheds no Lids our foward line is shot at the moment.

This was the game we had to lose before we play finals.

I back our boys to win the next 4 providing we get some structure back, now we'll be pumped for GC.

See, even an outsider can see it, we lack the maturity at this stage to deal with it but that said do you think the crows would have won without danger/sloan?

I think, and I mean this without a hint of negative criticism and purely from a place that if I were employed to improve Richmond FC, you guys were dominated in the ruck and everything flowed from there. I think Jacobs had the less flashy but much more influential impact.

Losing Dangerfield would have smoothed over that crack.

I like Maric but his opponent can get on top of him and without Deledio in there with genuine foot speed the rest are made to look slow be the ball being to the opposition advantage.

You don't want to be basing a game on contested ball clearances, that wrestle gets you in the end.

What the game did was provide another glowing blue print into how to beat this modern RFC side, which happened at the start of the year also .
1. Get into Houli physically and mentally , unfortunately has always felt the heat when it's applied .
2: play one on one around the ground and force RFC to kick do the line to undersized options
3. Keep spillage and clearances in tight and dont allow RFC out the back door where we consistently have blokes in space . Most stoppages there are two .
4. Got a great ruckman your home .

How RFC can fix .
1. Work on replacing Houli , been a great player for us no doubt but goes to water way to often and to quick .
2. Stop playing all talls deep. Play a kpp sized bloke who is going to push up to the wing and give a get out option . Replace Jack as our leading forward and let him roam the forward line where ever he wants as a 3rd tall .
3. Bring in better inside mids who can also work there way forward through traffick , not having going backwards as the only option . Grigg , Miles , lambert all go backwards from contests never through the congestion .
4. Get Kreuzer .

Suggestions :
Dea for houli , yes he provides less offensive run , but is better under the pump and would provide less unpredictability . Houli's kicking to teammates is actually terrible .
Elton/ astbury and Mckenzie as future kpf.
Get treloar and Krueser.

Well done
