God I hate Greg Broughton so much. Last year I started with him, and kept him longer that most until I couldn't take any more and traded him out to Rawlings, who was absolutely terrible and by the end of the year he was my 9th back. I think he got one more average score, and then the 120s came (at least I didn't trade him back in like some). After that I swore he would never set foot in my dream team again. Then the **** sucked me in this year and for the lack of better options I picked the ****er. After his 2 sub-par scores to start off I was done, decided it was worth the trade and the ~30k I had left over to not have to worry about him, so traded him to Grant Birchall. Gregory pulls out a ton, Birch gets himself injured and now I can't afford to trade Mumford to Sandi. &*^&^$$&%#$

Your either ranking really really porrly or are missing that he is only really avg

91, 48 (redden emg), 85 /3 = 74.6 (thats not that great at all).

Given they are either going to waste a crucial trade on him, or suffer through constant niggles with his back through the whole season, I should jump ahead a few that have him.

F^$& sake. Worked nightshift this week and some how slept all afternoon and into the lockout. Havent had more than 4 hours sleep all week on nights and then randomly today slept for twice that.

Mumford = 0, both ruck benches dropped....

Haha mate that is dead set cruel. He did the same thing to me last year

It's both your own faults for not persisting with a Premium you picked initially.

Broughton has always done this every year, you know what you are buying when you get him highs and lows, I never thought about trading him.

You cant predict Fyfe getting injured. Hes also not going to avg 10 tackles a week.

I traded him out and despite his good score last weekend and his good start this week I'm happy i did. He is a roller coaster ride. Even in this match he was missing for a very long time then just happened to pick up a heap of tackles so now he has had a good first half.

He doesn't have a permanent spot in the midfield, he plays a lockdown role against some teams and it's still unknown whether or not he will be a good option this year. People talk about how he performed late last year but look at how long he took to start performing. It's reasonable for people to trade him out. Plus as mentioned above, no one could predict Fyfe getting injured and Broughton going back into the middle for longer stints.

This. I didn't pick Broughton, but for those who did, why would you trade him? He's done this his entire career. If you picked him you should've been prepared for what he did. Don't blame him, blame your lack of research.

Because of his role during the NAB cup. I don't blame him at all. The reason i dropped him because of how Lyon has been using him. People that picked him obviously thought he was in for a better year.

If you picked him up knowing he was going to be similar to last year, then why would you pick him? Last year it took him until round 9 for a decent score (90). Then he went on a stretch of 10 games with only 1 bad score before going back to being horrible in the remaining games (barring a ton in the last match). Surely if you knew you were going to get this with him you wouldn't pick him? Or you would wait for him to drop in price seeing as you are expecting him to have his shockers.

This is my point. If you can't deal with inconsistent scoring you shouldn't have picked him in the first place, because it was always going to happen.

Maybe you should be the one doing the research, going off one year or 6 games is hardly convincing evidence that he does this every year.

In 2010 he started fast avg 93~ when he only avg 89 for the year.

In 2011 agreed he did start slow but its hardly an every year thing. In the NAB he played in the guts as in the on ball division. This has continued into the season he is playing a wing/halfback role.

Freo also had a very easy start playing the 10,11 and 12th easiest sides to score against this year in the first 3 games they then come up against Stkilda (3rd toughest), carlton (toughest), GC (easy), Port (9th toughest), Hawks 3rd toughest and eagles the 4th toughest.

Not an easy draw.

It's not about starting fast or slow, it's about inconsistency. Before this year, Broughton had played 51 games. In those 51 games, he scored under 70 18 times (more than a third), plus 3 71's. He's always been very prone to low scores, but he makes up for it with just as many high scores, as he's shown by averaging around 85 each year despite these low scores.

If you'd done your research, you'd know this, and you'd either realize that you're going to have to be willing to take the bad with the good or not pick him at all.

LOL DT is a cruel, heartless game
Pissed at Mumford, but at least I've got Giles as R3. Hopefully he can fill the breach again.

Jarrad Waite I see you're on 93 at 3QTR and I'm so happy with myself! And at full time you're on 92...umm what the ****!

So, I'm sitting pretty after Round 2 - I had the good fortune of picking the right rookies and not needing to waste trades to bring in anyone on the bubble.

Like I side, aside from the obligatory 'benched rookie equals gun score' and odd under-performing premium and mid-pricer that we all get - I'm pretty content with the start.

Then Round 3 rolls around, this is what follows...

I (stupidly) strip the C off the Little Master and put it on Pendles - working on a combination of the theory that Pendles seems to stand-up and score well in big games at the G and it's a Friday night game and my DT-induced ADD (wanting to see my captain's score early in the weekend/trying to create a point of difference in my side to boost my ranking inside the top 1k) Gaz - 162, Pendlebury - 62... Shit call by me... Oh well - my ranking will fall outside the top 5K, will have to make that up somewhere...

Then...
- Fyfe has his shoulder shit itself on 22.
- Dempsey has a giggle with a hamstring scare and is shut down on 10
- Shaw actually DOES his hamstring? I missed the game, so didn't realise this until the teams come out.
- Goodes is reported.
- Lake backs up his ripping round 1 score with a small piece that highlights his mental health is on par with his physical attributes.

I make the Shaw - Carazzo trade... Yay.

And Dempsey/Fyfe BOTH late withdrawals. Always going to be doubtful, but 2?

Bugg and Porpoise destroying at half time. :thumbsu:

Then Sheeds decides to shift Bugg to Porpoise. Both do NOTHING for the rest of the match!:thumbsd::mad:

I could vent at Goodes for forcing me to play yet another GWS rookie in my forward line, but I can't vent tonight. Go Dons! :thumbsu:
