MM has been roundly criticised for over use of the boundary as a route into attack. This article in the HUN looks at the facts of both Collingwood's success and St Kilda's

Even at Round 21, with St Kilda on top of the ladder and Collingwood the next best side on form, there are some who believe Mick has changed his ways, that he has conformed to public pressure and that Collingwood's success in the second half of the year is built on its greater use of the corridor.
It's a fallacy. In fact, if anything, the Magpies have played the boundary sightly more in the second half of the season, when they've won all but one game.
The stats don't lie when used transparently, independent of what we'd like them to say.

No surprises there for me, even last week we used the boundary more then what we usually do.

MM sees it as a gameplan that is unique from others in the league, and that he backs in that gameplan against all sides.

Sydney hate it, and we will show that to them tomorrow, while Stkilda havent really had to deal with it yet.

Whether MM is correct or not in his "approach" to the modern game will be decided over the next 2 and a bit years.
