After watching Veszpremi yesterday i couldn't help thinking about the likeness to Alan Didak not in looks but ability. I am no Didak lover as a person, but his footy has gone to the elite level.
Just the way Vez plays and celebrates is Didak like. The ability to snap a goal on the wrong side and his attack on the footy yesterday was fantastic, maybe a guy like him can get a few through the gates up there, now and in the future. He had 7 inside 50's which was the most for us yesterday.

Minor difference is Veszpremi's future is in the midfield while Didak is a forward. I get what your saying though and i tend to agree.

Didak was recruited as a midfielder though. So he is playing where he played as a junior. Just took him a while to adjust to the AFL pressure i guess.

But yes Vez is looking so so exciting. The way he goes about winning the ball is really good. One moment that stood out for me (other than his goal of course) on the weekend was when Crouch (i think) ran through HB and kicked long to HF where Vez was leading his man to the ball but with 2 other Kangas around him. He went at the ball hard while it was in the air, didnt mark it but kept it out in front of him, kept his feet, regathered the ball motored away from his direct opponent and shrugged of another and kicked long from 55 out to the goal square where we scored. It showed such class and skill.

This guy is gonna be something very special.

actually a really good bit of play by vesz was the ball he marked in the centre of the ground stopped and kicked it sweepingly onto i think his left foot to Rhyce Shaw who then marked and followed up with the goal...really good skills and good on him for seeing the better option

Veszpremi could take over Adam Goodes someday as my manlove. The guy is just simply awesome. He could be the new face of the Sydney Swans for the next decade.

Hahaha MEREDITH BIRD VESZ

And in relation to the thread, Vesz has class and talent Didak can only dream off.

Another thing i like about him is that he kicks more than he handballs. The last few years teams try to handball so much and i think playing like that can often reduce the attacking potential of a player when they have the ball if they are more willing to handball than kick.

When you look at the stats of most players nowadays, the smaller/midfield players, they almost all have more handballs than kicks and i personally like it that he kicks it far more than he handballs it (think he was 12 and 2 on the weekend).

Yes a fantastic bit of play from the young man.Great body work in keeping his feet in the one on one contest then kicking long to the advantage side of MOL who outpointed his man to goal.Crouch also deserves credit in this passage of play for his ability to also kick it to the advantage side for Vez while running at full tilt.Great composure and balance.

Agree BB, let's hope he's not reading this lol, but I agree with the sentiments. Along with Meredith, he's our most talented draftee from the past 2 years. His excitement is so great for Sydney and Roos better not settle him down unless it gets to an Akermanis standard (unless of course Vez gets to that standard, too lol)

A midfield of Meredith, Veszpremi, Bird and Jack/Hannebery is mouth watering for the future!

Edit: Probably shouldn't forget McVeigh!

who cares if they do have a read

i want them 2 get some praise they deserve i want them to know that some of the hard things they do make us proud

Though im sure they have been told anything they read in the media or online or even by word of mouth not to take it seriously but a few positive words cant hurt

Heck ill give as much praise...i love pat...HI PAT haha

I have to admit I was a little critical of Vez when I saw him shirk a contest in the final against the dogs last year and I was concerned it might be something we'd see more of, however his game on the weekend put my fears to rest. He was hard at the ball, beautifully skilled, composed under pressure and great to watch. He could be anything.

same here, hopefully hes passed that, I was also critical of him for not just taping his finger up and playing through, but I noticed it was his thumb, you cant just tape that, anyway thats all water under the bridge, looking forward to the excitement machine.
