In 2012, the VFL introduced a special VFL academy aimed at the best and brightest young players in the VFL to help teach them new ways, better ways than that of their respective previous clubs.
2014 VFL academy
The 2014 version was revealed on the 21st of February that is;

Aiden Frenetic, Joseph Fisher, Mitch O'Donnell (Box Hill Hawks)
Alex Hickey, Angus Milham (VFL Bombers)
Ben Cavarra, Brady Egan (Frankston Dolphins)
Fraser Fort (VFL Cats)
James Tsitas (North Ballarat Roosters)
Matthew Haynes (Northern Blues)
Nick Prowse, Sam Anderson (Port Melbourne Borough)
Elliot Le Grice, James Munro (Sandringham Zebras)
Bret Bewley, Isiash Miller, Jack Johnstone, Jake Greiser, Michael Gibbons (Williamstown)
What are peoples thoughts on the squad? looks like a decent squad. Wouldnt mind seeing it go head - to - head against another state side's under 22 side maybe on the same weekend of the state games.
2014 VFL academy
Young talent time for VFL Academy
COACH and mentor Darren Flanigan was inundated when he called for nominations for this year’s AFL Victoria VFL Academy.
Between them, AFL recruiting officers and VFL and TAC Cup clubs put up 130 players for the academy’s third intake.
After some hard thought Flanigan trimmed the list to 22, with scope to add more during the season.
