He is nowhere near as toned as Brown and probably still carries a bit to much puppy fat. A good summer in the gym to muscle up his upper body and trim off a bit and he will a big improver. He is presenting well and getting hold of the ball. He reminds me a bit of Nablett in that he is almost unselfish to a fault.

I meant in comparison to age, Brown wasn't even that big at 19. He's going to be absolutely MASSIVE when he turns that puppy fat into muscle.

How impressive have Thompson, Firman and Bedford been? Loved seeing Firman beat Krakouer easily in a one on one contest, while Thompson has been like a brick wall in defence....nothing's getting past him. :thumbsu:

Yep. He will be a monster. I could see him being a man mountain like Lockett in the goal square. But he does need a bit of work in the gym. I am probably being a bit pedantic here but you cannot turn muscle into fat. You burn fat and build muscle. That will require some hard work.

On Davenport:

He has some very good performances in the VFL this year. I thought he was BOG today. Will he be promoted to the senior list next year as a possible run and carry player?

Very good win.

Can't see Rooke getting a call up after that performance though.
Would have liked Rooke to do a little bit more today. But the bad thing is that Rooke wont get a chance to do any better with the 2's having the week off. maybe worth the risk .

Didnt watch the game but the two guys on the internet radio praised his performance and thought he was in our top 5.

I didn't have Rooke in our best 5. Davenport, Thompson, Hawkins, King, Playfair. I don't think he's at the pace of AFL quite yet. Still at least he didn't get injured.

i watched geelongs vfl side play northern bullants earlier in the year, and there was 2 young kids who were standouts!!!

firman and davenport!! both should be promoted to seinor list soon..

I reckon Rooke played pretty well withing himself today, doing just enough whilst protecting his hammy.

If he got put in the side next week (and he should) I'd expect him to definitely go up a notch. We really need his intensity around the contests.

Having Rooke line up in the middle certainly makes it a very hot footy for the opposition at the bounces.
