Skillet (christian rock) - i'm not one to dig christian music, but this band is surprising very good (their last album only), reminds of Linkin Park a fair bit - very catchy.

Yep, skillet are good.

If you like Christian Rock also check out Pillar.

These guys are actually from Adelaide. They are mates of mine and definitely go allright.

Sorry, my bad. Now that you mention it, i do actually remember them being from Adelaide.

They look to be going places, but there are so many bands of this style these days.

Alkaline Trio.

They are pretty well known, nearly every kid in the punk scene would of heard of them at least. Quality band though
I might as well add some bands
The Fray/ Race the Fray (not sure what they call themself these days)
In Name and Blood
She Spits Macabre (not sure where there these guys have gone)
Against
Miles Away
Ted Leo
Hot Hot Heat

Good punk/hardcore bands that are relatively unknown:
Strike Anywhere
The Lawrence Arms
Clutch
The Fall of Troy
Say Anything (ridiculously good)
Stiff Little Fingers (got a mention in "High Fidelity")
Time Spent Driving

Good "indie" bands that are relatively unknown:
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
American Football
Chin Up Chin Up
Minus The Bear (possibly the greatest band of the past decade)
The Weakerthans
Wintersleep

Some people might of heard of all these bands, but it all depends on what sort of music you listen to. I based it on whether they get any mainstream exposure (JJJ included) in Australia, but there may be exceptions (I don't listen to much radio).

Also, if you disagree with my genre-labelling, I don't care.

Trial Kennedy
Airbourne

both Melbourne bands, both have fans in high places and both (especially Airbourne) look like bands you're going to be hearing a lot more about very soon.
