Not entirely correct.

He played forward for the u17's in the finals in 07 and that was apparently the moment where they pencilled him in for our first pick in 08.

He played the majority of his football for Saints. He was captain of their side, and if anyone went to either of these schools...or knows the rivalry between a few of these schools, they would know of the pressures to play for them - especially at Saints (see the Minson Brothers + Henry White who is a Bulldog Rookie...all played their footy for Saints rather than SANFL club). Saints hadn't beaten Sacred Heart for 30 years or something, and this year they beat them with Phil being BOG kicking 5 or 6 goals.

But he did manage a few games in reserves for North as you mentioned, where he kicked 10 goals in 3 games including a bag, and by my reports was very close to league selection when he did his shoulder.

I remember when a guy from my local footy club, who is also a recruiter for a prominent Melbourne based club, said that Phil Davis could end up being the best from the 2008 lot.

Pretty sure i read somewhere that beating SHC was his best moment in football.

Love to see this kid in a wierd role, eg Chad Cornes.

Chuck him on the wing for a Richo role maybe? have a defensive tall wing in Moran and an attacking one like Davis, both can interchange as well. Also Otten,

I like that a lot of our players have versatility in where they can play, as well as having players who are natural in their possies, like Tex, Bock, Truck etc.

I have a couple of dvds which feature Davis playing up forward in the reserves in 2008 when he kicked 5 goals against Glenelg and 4 goals against Centrals. He is incredibly exciting and after watching these games i couldnt believe how good he was. He took so many contested marks up forward and as ive said before when he puts the big mits up the ball just sticks. He is a fantastic kick for goal as well. I actually saw his first reserves game live and even at the ground i remember thinking he is definately worth drafting.

Once he puts on a bit of muscle he is going to be a very good forward for us. Walker is very exciting but i still think Davis has the ability to be even better. I think with Walker and Davis in our forward line in the future we may have one of the best forward lines for years to come.

Unfortunately i dont have a dvd recorder in which i can put these games on the net.
