On radio tonight Michael Voss said that if he retires he would look at an assistant coaching role at the cattery. Reckon we could fit him in.;)

Oh god I hope so.

Would be PERFECT as our next midfield coach.

An assistant better than the current head coach......only at Geelong.

Seriously, get over it.

He is coach in 2007, accept it. I cannot be buggered reading your anti-Thompson posts for another year. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Wow, that's exciting - hope he has good coaching ability!

was there any other comments? This depends on the context of the conversation. If he mentioned Geelong first, fair enough, but if he was lead into making the comment by speculation, well thats not really newsworthy.

Give him whatever he wants to come to the cattery. He would bring so much to our club. Wouldn't it be funny if we scored Aker and Voss came as a coach. That would be a little weird, hypothetically speaking of course.

Cressa must be feeling a little peaved right now.

Went something like this. They were trying to get him to declare whether he's going to play next year. He said he hadn't finally decided. They then asked what he would do if he retired. He said he would like to coach, but was unsure whether he would take a year off first. If he coached he said he thought it would be better to do it away from Brisbane to widen his experience. He was then asked whether he'd consider a team like Geelong and he said he would. Geez I hope it happens.

That would be fantastic if he did come to the GFC.

Renegade, give it up. We know you hate Bomber you don't need to tell us a zillion times...

Ok, so he answered in a professional manner and said he'd consider it. Someone in that position would be stupid to burn any bridges at such an early stage, so it was smart for him to indicate that he would consider such a thing (he probably would have replied similarly if asked about Carlton, the Roos etc).

From his point of view, Geelong would be a good option - imagine the kudos you could get from turning a good list around into winners...

If Voss came to the club, he'd bring so much. I doubt he would be better than the head coach as stated by Renegade earlier.

Thompson is the head coach who is signed for next year. Lets move on from that.

It is true though, he is just being professional about his approach. I wouldn't burn any bridges before I had a chance of going over them too. It would be pretty stupid of him to do so. He has had chats with St Kilda and Carlton, nothing with us thus far I believe.

Bring him to the club I say. Cooky give this guy a call.

apparently hes had talks with other clubs about an assistant coaching position, so he may choose another side over geelong.

Doubt that very much. I thought it was very encouraging. But then again, I'm not a cynic.

You're not a cynic and you go for Geelong? What's stopping you from going completely insane?? My cynicism is the only thing that keeps me from going on a shooting spree!! :p
