This will be very intresting, with Bucks saying he wants to coach next year and MM in his last year of his contract. If Voss out coaches Mick and we get flogged the Call for the End of Mick will be quite loud and to be bring Bucks in ASAP. Though I doubt Bucks would leave Channel 7 this year.

Though be intresting how Voss coaches against us and he has tormented us when he played for the Lions. I dare say he will to tell his Players to be Hard at the Ball and Try and Physically dominate us.

For a start, we wont get flogged, we simply arent playing a good enough team for that to happen.

Secondly, I can't see Voss out coaching MM, but maybe his game style might prove a problem.

Against Sydney, they moved the ball through the center of the ground, using players with great skills like Johnstone, Black, Power and Rich to avoid pressure.

If we lose to Brisbane, it will only be a very close loss, although even that will bring the pressure onto MM even more, although it's not exactly his fault Heath Shaw and Maxwell wont be playing this week, which hurts our chances already.

Collingwood vs Brisbane lions

Ok ,we are 2 losses 1 win and face a confident Brisbane Lions on their home turf,this friday night .A win would put us back on track,or a loss may derail us.
We will be without Heath SHAW,Ben Johnstone,Nick Maxwell (most likely).
They will bring in Jamie Charman and Brennan who love playing against us.
Their midfield is a worry especially with Simon Black ,johnson,power and their new gun recruit,Daniel Rich who has found his niche in that side.
Who'll stop the twin towers,Brown and bradshaw ?

Ok guys your thoughts on our chances and possible ins and outs.
This will be a tough encounter,a must win game for us can we do it?

What would be damning if we lose, is that Brisbane has got their premierships, then bottomed out, then come back to be better than us again, before we even looked like winning a flag.

I think we will win. Travis Cloke is due for a big one and he's got a good record against them in recent times.

Their midfield is good. Ryan Cook will come into the side and he'll probably play a tagging role on Black or Johnson. We may need to pick a second specialist ruckman but I think we will let Fraser go alone with the responbility of the captaincy.

I'd play Presti on Bradshaw because he is more likely to play closer to goal and N Brown has to go to J Brown because he did well on him last time we played them.

I think we will be fine in the ruck this time, Josh is in good form and he will probably be captain which usually lifts him - just kick them set shots josh!!

Our midfield has been good this year so I'm not overly stressed out about their midfield options, they will get big numbers but our clearance play has been good.

I'm most concern about our defence, both our tall backs and our run with Shaw out. Maxi has been poor of late so Goldsack will be a like for like switch where we won't lose too much but Nathan Brown's the problem. Presti should get Bradshaw when he is in the goalsquare and will do well on him but that leaves Brown for Brown I think we should go with this, letting Sacks chop out to help wherever possible, he mite get killed (in which case change things Mick not like last year against the Saints) but it might be that extra bit of added responsibility to shock him back into life..

Will obrien take him.He always plays well against us.
Have to hope if cook comes in he can blanket, Black.
But their midfield is pretty good.......Black,power,johnson,adcock,rich.
Sherman always puts in against us and that bloody Charman also loves playing aginst us,he tends to throw josh around,abit.Actually Charman is the bullocking type of ruckamn we need to actually compliment josh.

Breenan is a midfielder now hasnt played key forward since he kicked 7 against us

Agree we need a player like Charman. That's why we play play players like Brown and Bryan instead of Wood - pity they can't actually ruck..

Brennan's a mid now, with his size, etc Maxi probably would have got the tag on him this week, not sure now, maybe head to head with someone.. That's gonna be a tough matchup for us this week I think.

Presti to Brown. Couldnt find a better brown blanket in a old folks home.
Brown to Bradshaw. Bit worried with this one, but we dont have anyone else it seems.

Thier midfield worries me, Adcock is in good form and had a good game against us last year, Brennan always kills us, Black + Power are all class and Rich is just looking at ease in the AFL. PLus Voss seems to have a modern game plan. I still think we have the fire power up forward to challenge them, and it is games like this we must win. The next few weeks are massive for us, need to win 2/3 at least.

That would be very damning and embarrasing. Talk about a way to damage our already damaged pride with regards to brisbane again. Lets hope this does not happen.

I am never confident when we play brisbane, maybe its because I live there and have had to witness many a flogging. I just don't like writing them off, every time we do we tend to get smashed by them.

I have a firm belief we will go up and win this week, Brisbane have beaten West Coast just, got beat by an overrated Carlton, and knocked off an ageing Sydney in terrible conditions last week, we should have won up there last year, won up there the year before and if we are fair dinkum finals material will win on friday. For mine we are sure things this week just wait and see.

According to most commentators they too think our mids are not hard enough and they seem to think we need harder bodies in there and this could take a few years to happen.
We do not have Maxwell who else is a hard bodied player.L Brown he can't take on everyone. It is going to be wet not just wet they have had floods up there so the ground will be sodden. Very hard going. So you would think MM would look for tough hard bodied players to help out not light small players.
Lets wait and see who he picks. He really has lost the plot.
Who is going to negate J Brown, Bradshaw, Power etc etc etc.
Do not mean to sound negative but thats how I see it......

I'm struggling to see how we are going to win this, therefore i think we will win by 30-odd points haha.

Whenever we are down we always find a way to rebound, i have a feeling that we might just turn it on on Friday and kick-start our season.

I'm struggling to see how there is any way we won't win by five + goals to be truthful.

Presti will blanket Brown as he always has (Jason Cloke was on him when he went nuts in round 19 2003), Brown will do a job on Bradshaw, and they've got nothing else going forward.

Fraser will dominate in the ruck as per the last two weeks. We'll destroy them.

just a quick one for you pies supporters. Even though we have had a fair bit of rain, it should be pretty fine between now and friday night, and the Gabba drains very well. With 3 full days to go and little rain about, it should be a dry game, as long as the weather doesn't change back to rain. Gabba doesn't stay soaked and soggy for long after a bit of rain.
