23 touches (10 contested), 6 tackles and a goal. Anyone who doesn't have Roberto Shirlos in their top 5 POTY is kidding themselves.

POTY

5. THOMPSON, Scottsbert - Inside, outside, everywhere.
4. SHIRLEY, Robertang - Blood and guts, plays old skool football in a post-modern era.
3. GOODWIN, Simondale - Real drive through the middle all day.
2. MATTNER, Martington - Electric performance down back and through the lines. Was refreshing to see him not get caught for once.
1. REILLY, Brentmond - Solid return, will obviously improve further.

BTM

3. SHIRLEY - See above.
2. HUDSON, Bennigal - In the absence of Griff toiled all day.
1. BASSETT, Nathanister - For better or worse, was fearless in defence, throwing himself at contest after contest.

Rookie

1. KNIGHTS, Christopographer - Just give him the award now.

Martington did get caught badly once (2nd quarter for memory). You can pencil it in as one of those things that happens once a game, like an intercepted lateral / backwards Scott Stevens kick. At least both boys got it out of their systems early.

I'll go with your votes though.

Ditto, though he did only have 65% efficiency.
He also had 8 of our 26 clearances, only registered 1 clanger.
In the top two with Mattner.

I'll post my votes a bit later.

@TopJars and MarkThirtytwo

Can you explain the voting style of 5 4 2 3 2 1??

POTY

5. Thomo - Fantastic game from Thomo. Partly fantastic as it just seemed a natural course of events for him to regularly pick up touches throughout the whole game. Wasn't in and out of the game at all.

4. Shirley - One of the hardest working players to get the most out of their ability I've ever seen. Does anyone have stats of time spent on the ball as he'd have to almost lead the club. If he doesn't he should. He is the most important cog to the engine room for us.

3. Reilly - Talk about stainless steel! Not a sign of rust on him (unlike others eh stiffy?) and played a fantastic game. Hard at it, kicked goals, great physical presence around the ball.

2. Goody - Reliable and consistent. IMO the type of player Craigy is trying to build most the young brigade into. Can tag, can win the ball, damaging delivery. I hope to heck he plays 3 more years.

1. Mattner - Quite good. Still had a few 'marty moment's but minimised those. Won quite a few one on one contests at critical times, really developed his defensive side. Time to go back to the wing craigy? Please??

Best Team Man

3. Huddo- how often does a guy nearly ruck a whole game anymore. Fantastic lion-hearted effort from the big guy. And still SO young in terms of experience.

2. Shirely - The mid-field glue. Structure for our mid-field starts with him and he rarely lets us down, today was superb.

1. Welsh - there will be scoffers of this.. but.. who won us the game? Who gave to the team the goals needed to put it away. Welshy did after a rough day of it to that point and apparently after suffering from a virus and not making it out on the track much during the week.

Rookie

2. Knights - This kid will soon have a thread on bay 13... or should.

POTY

5 - MATTNER ( Best game for the club )
4 - SHIRLEY ( See above )
3 - GOODY ( Like a fine wine )
2 - THOMMO
1 - KNIGHTS ( Worst kick in the AFL , but isn't he a magnet )

I think Knights disposal has improved a lot, but at least we agree on one thing he is a ball magnet he is going to be a gun midfielder.
