Votes Round 9

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

5) Wirrpunda - 5 goals from the midfield  Deserves BOG
4) Cousins - 27 touches, and the radio people said they were very damaging(no free-to-air coverage here :().
3) Chambers - Got a bit of the ball, used it well and kicked 3 goals. Very handy indeed.
2) Cox - Keeps standing up when he needs to. Was great last week around the ground, this week was great in the ruck.
1) Wooden - Radio people were very impressed with his effort, so i thought a vote was warranted.

Now lets hope we can win against the Saints next week and follow it up with another home win. Three wins on the trot will really set us up for a top8 finish.

Daddy4Eyes, the place to be when there is no free to air coverage in Melbourne is the Redback Hotel. They have a huge screen and Foxtel.

Come on down next time.:)

Interesting votes EKA??? Last week you couldnt possibly understnad why we were giving Cox BOG, yet this week you give it to him when i thought he played better last week. He will still feature in my votes though, but not BOG.

Will vote when i get home tonight, gotta go to work.

I might do that one day. I'm really busy with Uni, footy (a friend dragged me to training and i've stayed with them since :)), etc. And not having my P's yet doesn't help (shoulda had em 6months ago...).

But one day i might go....oneday.

5 - Wirrpunda. 5 goals, a lot of touches, some great marks, BOG

4 - Cousins - i thought his best game of the year so far. The most possesions, kicked 2 goals, and was brilliant all day.

3 - Wooden - A fantastic effort keeping Crawford to only 18 possesions whilst getting anumber of touches himself

2 - Cox - the best ruck on the ground by a mile. Killed all of htem in the first half, and played one of his best games of football for West Coast

1 - Jakovich - Nick Holland had no influence on the game.

5) David Wirrpunda:
Hard to choose between he and Cuzz, but his five goals put him just ahead of the skipper.

4) Ben Cousins:
Ran all day, used the ball quite well and flogged a quality tagger in Vandenberg.

3) Daniel Kerr:
A real four quarter effort. Won the ball for his team-mates and never stopped running for the entire match.

2) Troy Wilson:
Never stopped leading and presenting inside the Eagles forward line. Played on a quality backman and beat him.

1) Michael Collica:
Towelled up Chick and was a real steadying influence on the entire backline.

Chambers and Judd were extremely unlucky, but I felt that Collica, Wilson and Kerr were better over four quarters.

Cox was also terrific.

Damn, this voting seems to get harder each week!

5. Wirrpunda - BOG, 5 goals were incrediable
4. Cox - Sensational effort, confidence is on such a high
3. Cousins - Best game of the year from him
2. Chambers - Never stopped running, good shot at goals
1. Wooden - Shut down Crawf, good rebound player

Honourable mentions goes to Wilson, Kerr, Jakovich, Fletcher

awesome game .....

5. Wirra.
4. Cox (it all started with him).
3. Cousins
2. Kerr
1. Collica

apologies (in order) to Wooden, Chambers, Jako, Fletcher, Wilson and Judd.

over and out

thegur

The hardest game this year to rate as at least 10 players played really good games

5. Wirrpunda - the magic man with 5 goals.
4. Cox - dominated the ruck
3. Kerr - defines the phrase "hard ball gets". His clearances complemented Cox's work.
2. Cousins - got more brilliant as the game went on. Probably deserves more votes, but I've seen Jod's ladder so I'm giving the others a go!
1. Collica - nullified Chick and always seemed to be there when it mattered with handpasses, shepherds, smothers - team stuff.

Apologies to Wooden (what an effort), Chambers (excellent finishing), Wilson (leads, contests, what a hero), Fletcher, Banfield (yes, Drew had a good game), Sierakowski, Jako, Judd, Gaspar.

What a game!

Dont like this....VOR, i know its all in fun so its no biggie but it is an award for the best player of the season in the opinion of BF posters. But to see that Cuz is out in front so you will give others votes, sort of makes the award pointless..

Its like saying ill give Hunter 5 votes cos he doesnt have many :D

If you think Cousins was BOG give him 5 votes, if he's a 100 points up or he's in dead last, if he was BOG he deserves the votes either way.

Anyways no biggie, dont really care but im just saying..

Anyways my votes....toughest week so far.

5 - Wirrpunda, kicked 5 goals and was electric when near the ball, took some great marks and had a lot of the ball. Really is approaching his early brownlow favourtism of 2000 was it or 99?

4 - Cox, all started with Cox winning every stoppage there was to be won!! I thought without Gardy we would struggle but he has really stepped up. Last week he was dynamite around the ground, this week more in the ruck but Gardiner once back in the team could find himself permanently at CHF :D

3 - Cousins, great game from the captain and would have easily being BOG had it not for Wirra's and Cox's fantastic efforts. 2 goals and 27 possesion, getting back to his sparkling best.

2 - Wooden, collected 14 possesions and used all of them quite well but his tagging job on the very dangerous and in form Crawford was fantastic. Crawford could only manage 18 disposals and while he kicked 2 goals i didnt think he had much impact on the game.

1 - Jakovich, had 16 disposals and was great off halfback. Towelled up the dangerous Holland who had no effect on the result. Class game.

Apologies to Chambers who was great and finished well....Collica who well and truly beat Chick...Kerr, whose mistakes by foot(uncharacteristic) cost him a vote....McIntosh, again fantastic in defence....Wilson, always presents and makes a contest, kicked 3...Banfield, finally finding some form, kept Lekkas out of the game who was in red hot form coming into the game...and finally Seira who had a great debut return game, lively at half forward, took some strong grabs and his second efforts were encouraging.

My votes for what was a great game - fantastic crowd, nice fine day (woulda been hot for the players!) and a great effort from the Eagles.

5. Wirrpunda
4. Cousins
3. Cox
2. Wooden
1. Chambers

Apologies to lots, in particular Kerr, Judd, Fletch, Collica, Wilson. I was very happy with Siera's effort in his first game in ages - he contested hard. Hunter also did a good job in defence.

We REALLY need to beat the Sainters this week and get two in a row - if we play like we did against the Hawks (same effort) then we should win.

Go Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I was being a bit tongue in cheek - the most I'd give him this week was 3 (ie swap him and Kerr) and I thought it was line ball. Gave it to Kerr because he was in and under more earlier in the game, whereas Cuz got a lot of touches (and his two goals) in the last quarter. I do try to give the votes fairly. But this week it was incredibly hard - I'm still not sure how Chambers missed out on a vote from me!

5- Wirra (he was just wonderful to watch, BOG for sure)
4-Cuz ( is he even better then last year???)
3-Cox (he's good, he's great, he's still not Gardy:) )
2-Wooden (i was impressed, he did very well all game)
1-Kerr ( he's a little ripper:) )

Gold stars: Jako, Chambers, Willo, Fletch and Banners (he did pretty well)

and 100 points to Woosha:D

Thats cool VOR, IMO i thought Kerr let himself down with his kicking, especially for goal, had too relatively easy shots at goal, one went wayward and the other hardly made the distance. Just my opinion though...
