WOW!!

Hard to give votes in this game because there were 8-9 players who all deserved to get votes. But here goes:

5 - Fletcher: The outstanding midfielder on the ground. I chose him as best because i thought his work ethic was exceptional and he also kicked a few goals.

4 - Judd: 5 goals in the first half - 3 which nearly made me cream myself, and was the cataylst of the victory

3 - Cousins: Ended up with the most possesions and used them at a high standard.

2 - Jakovich: His work across half forward in the first half was one of the reasons why West Coast had a match winning lead at halftime. Great game.

1 - Banfield: I chose him because i thought he was the better of the 3-4 defenders that could have gotten a vote.

Unlucky:
Green - excellent in defence.
Sampi - stands werent fantastic but every single time he got the ball a West Coast score resulted.
Wirrpunda - Just behind Banfield
Gardiner - Excellent around hte ground
Embley - Excellent up forward.

Exactly the same.

Fletch
Judd
Cousins
Jako
Banfield

Banners stood up really well. It's difficult when Wirra has a great game (as usual) but another player has a really good game above their normal level, you feel compelled to give them votes.

5 - Fletcher!!!
4 - Cousins
3 - Judd(with a LITTLE more in second half he would easily have been BOG)
2 - Jakovich, what a performance
1 - Green, really commend this guy on working tirelessly ALL day

Unlucky? Everyone else cept maybe Morrosin who didnt see much of the ball!

And you know i have to CHIPPER:D what a game, great to see him back:) 2 goals, many good possessions and THAT PASS to Wilson, everything was orgasmic today from everyone. Oh what a team!

4. Cousins
3. Judd
2. Jako
1. Embley

5. Fletcher - tireless all day, and was excellent in his finishing.
4. Judd - best half by an Eagle in years. Cold spoons stuff.
3. Cousins - ran all day, and any other week would have got 5.
2. Embley - yet another good performance in the resurgence of Andrew Embley.
1. Jones - 20 odd possessions and three goals up forward.

5 - Chris Judd (can't believe he hasn't got one BOG yet, I thought it woudl've been fairly even between he and Fletch)
4 - Chad Fletcher
3 - Ben Cousins
2 - Glen Jakovich
1 - Kasey Green

I'm getting in early this time.

5) Cousins - Just kept running all day. Outstanding.
4) Jones - Great option up forward. Hands of steel.
3) Fletch - Good contest with Luke Power.
2) Juddy - Won us the game in the first half.
1) Embers - Solid all day. Kicked goals.

Apologies to Kasey Green (so brave with his marking down back), Banners, Kerr, Sampi, Jako and Gardiner (Jeez, he'll enjoy the break).

Gardiner (Jeez, he'll enjoy the break).

I thougth that today - the last couple of weeks he's clearly struggle with having such a workload thus far in 2003.

Perhaps even giving him a double break and not playing him against the Roos (or limiting his time in the ruck) to keep him fresh for the Swans game.

Actually, now that I think about it, we gotta pick him but not start him and keep him on the bench as much as we can unless we're really getting beaten soundly in the ruck AND it is having an effect on our chances of winning the game.

5. Cousins (34 possies, influentual day)
4. Fletcher (another top midfielder you amassed plenty of possesions)
3. Judd (2nd quartr was one of the best I have seen in a long time, a quiet second half with only 5 touches, but the damage was already done!)
2. Banfield (one of his better games in recent time, gave us good run for 4 full quarters)
1. Jakovich (outstanding performance from the big fella - loved his goal in the first quarter a wobbly mongrel from 20 metres directly in front)

5) Judd- when the game was on early, broke it open.
4) Cousins - lead from the front all game long
3) Fletcher - damaging all game with the pill + 3 goals to boot
2) Jako -took some telling possessions around half forward and sent it inside 50 regularly
1) Banfield -was stable down back and provided great rebound

apologies: Jonesy, Gardy, Embley and Wirrapunda

Bit of a bottle neck at the start- flip a (three sided) coin between Judd/Fletcher/Cousins.

5. Cousins- dominated all day, simply enormous work rate and by and large his disposal was excellent. Also gets a little bit extra props for captaining a side to a win like this.
4. Judd- My head says fletch was more consistent, but Judd's 5 minutes of brilliance were probably my single biggest thrill as a fan this year.
3. Fletcher- Severely stiffed to be getting 3 votes after a truly outstanding day at the office.
2. Jakovich- Brilliant effort at CHF, caned.
1. Banfield- excellent game, lots of guts, grit and determination, and found the ball.

Apologies to EmbleyJonesSampiGardinerWirrpundaWilsonKerrGreenandDoogs!

I dont know how to vote on this one?? These are the players IMO that really deserved votes.

Cousins - 35 disposals, 4 marks and kicked a goal....ran all day.

Fletcher - 29 touches, 3 goals...what can you say, only thing against him is I believe Power was his opponent and Power kicked 3 himself.

Jakovich - worked tirelessly at CHF. Kicked a shocker of a goal :D Had 23 possessions! and 7 marks.

Banfield - 25 disposals from deep in defence, he had a hand in almost every rebound from down back.

Judd - 5 electrifying goal...need I say more..

Wirrpunda - like Banfield, cleaned everything up in defence and even ran off half back and broke lines, 21 disposals.

Green - didnt get the touches that Wirrpunda and Banners got but he was equally as effective down back.

Jones - fantastic hands in the forward line, marked everthing. 20 touches, 7 marks and 3 goals. Cant ask for anything more.

Gardiner - 28 HO's, 8 marks, 19 disposals, a goal. The best ruckmen in the competition.

Sampi - livewire up forward, kicked a couple of goals but it was the 1%ers etc that he did that made him stand out.

Any of the above deserve votes. And Im annoyed that I can only give out votes to 5 of them...let me think about it some more.

5- Cousins
4-Judd
3-Fletcher
2-Jakovich
1-Banfield

Apologies to the rest of the team, special mentions to Sampi, Gardiner, Wirrapunda, Wilson (welcome back son), Kerr, Mcdoogal and Embers!

5 - Cousins, lead all day and produced his best ever game against the Lions 35 posessions and 1 goal
4 - Fletcher, ball magnet all day and 3 goals to cap off a great days work - belted Luke Power who saved face with 3 goals himself
3 - Judd, 5 goals in one half, smells like teen spirit.
2 - Jakovich, a strong central focus in attack
1 - Jones, strong across half forward all day, took strong marks and amassed a nice bag of posessions.

A magnificent team effort - and those who didn't get many stats also did a great job.

5. Fletcher - outstanding in and under, attack and defence all day
4. Cousins - Captain Courageous - did the hard stuff too
3. Judd - at half time, BOG.
2. Jakovich - outstanding twisting, turning display at focal point CHF (amazingly)
1. Banfield - he was in my votes at half time and out in the third quarter, but I think he fell over the line ahead of a series of competing players:

Jones, Gardiner, Embley, Green, Kerr, Sampi, Wirrpunda
