As Mead said on another thread, this BOG thing ain't easy.

It's a team game andit's hard to get this right, though if you look at Jod's leaderboard, we're probably not far off. This week was even harder than usual with a number of unsung heroes doing well. My guess:

5. Wirrapunda - the magic man is back in form and no side can hold him
4. Kerr - they don't count his tackles right, or they miss a "0" off or something. He is at the bottom of every pack.
3. Jones - 3 goals was a huge bonus after 19 possessions, taps, knock-ons, even 2 hitouts
2. Wooden - great game only marred by the odd bad decision
1. Cousins - got a lot of possessions, but didn't dominate the game in the way he can, meaning a mere mid-20s possession game and there when we needed him as ever.

Banfield can consider himself robbed. Cox ditto. Fletcher, Embley, Judd and McIntosh in different ways too. I've tried to give the votes over the whole game, but there's a strong case for those who lifted in the last 10 minutes and snatched victory. Merenda did his job then, as did Gaspar in the ruck and Phil & Peter (knock it on 100 metres then kick across the goals with depth to seal the game) Matera.

5: Wirrpunda (simply class)
4: Cox (Sux has really come of age)
3: Pinnochio (Best game for the year)
2: Kerr (Still a rookie, can't wait till he matures)
1: Jones (Good hard effort)

Note to the vote.

IMO Wirrpunda is brilliant and does some fantastic things. But he tends to go missing for huge parts of the game, and I've watched him off the ball just doing nothing so often. Once fired up he's incredible but the spark plugs need to be firing much more consistently.
It's so easy to remember highlights as they dominate our memories.

5) Cuzz:
Just kept popping up when we needed him the most, and his goal in the final quarter was important. A real captains game.

4) Kerr:
Hard and tough at the bottom of packs. His handballs (13) and deft little taps (Kemp like) bring his team-mates into the game.

3) Wirra Wirra Punda:
Magical player. Love the way he cleverly controls the ball with an opponent right on his tail. Doesn't pick it up, just keeps tapping it in front of him and gives the opposition the $hits.

2) Wooden:
And to think, some of you losers were bagging this poor young bloke. Keep it up Pinocchio, Buzz loves ya.

1) McIntosh:
Hall kicked four goals, but he was in really good form, and against anyone else it would have been considerably more.

Apologies to Banners, Jones and Cox.

5 - Wirrpunda - was again fantastic...could have kicked a bag if he had of brought his kicking boots. Still had 19 disposals and kicked 3 telling goals, saw off 3 opponents. He is in rare form. He like Judd dont need 30 possessions to hurt you, only had 19 but IMO was BOG.

4 - Jones - his best game of the year, was great in the midfield early and was somewhat lucky in front of goal but then later he was moved to half forward and ended the game with three goals. He always gets overlooked but this time his performance was too strong to overlook.

3 - Cousins - a real captains game. Had a leisurely 26 disposals but the two most telling parts of his game were his 7 tackles! and of course his very important goal in the final quarter. He is in very good form.

2 - Kerr - another good game from the youngster, his handball while surrounded and under pressure right against the boundary line was sublime.

1 - Wooden - best game ive seen him play yet, was involved with everything and had 26 disposals and a great game.

Desperately unlucky were Banners who has finally found his form and is playing like the Banfield we know! and Dean Cox who had 14 disposals, 26 hitouts and a goal, continuing his fantastic form.

Also kudo's to Merenda who did what he was paid to do in the most important part of the game and to McIntosh who kept Hall to 0 touches in the last quarter.

5- Wirra the wonderous

4- Wooden the less crap then we originally suspected

3- Cuz the pretty damn good

1- BANNERS!!!! and let us hear no more of this trade-bait talk :)
