5. Riewoldt
4. Deledio
3. Morton
2. Cotchin
1. Edwards

Special mention to Gourdis (who was unlucky that Kosi got several cheapies), he smashed packs, took some good marks, and provided good run, and the tackling machine Taylor. O'Reilly was good too.

Rance's composure and aerial skills have improved absolutely out of sight.

Tough to award them today:)

5 - Jack just never stopped working hard for the ball.
4 - Lids just superb (only missed out on the 5 because of Jacks game)
3 - Connors his disposal and decisions today were first rate.
2 - King put some great pressure on the Saints defenders
1 - Cotch pure class

Would love to have given Goo and Edwards a vote but they just missed out

Would doubt any changes for next week unless cuz doesn't come up. Good team effort today.:thumbsu:

5. Riewoldt - kept us in it early and fought on well when the Saints double teamed him to all but win the Coleman.
4. Deledio - along with Jack set us up with a very good first quarter, quiet in the second but got back into it in the second half.
3. King - dis plenty of good work early on, kicking 2 and setting up 2 others in the first half. Should have ended up with 4 but tried to get teammates into the play.
2. Connors - provided good run out of the backline all day. Still not entirely happy with his defensive work but much better display that recent weeks.
1. Graham - playing as the sole ruckman and did a power of work. Let himself down when Patto pushed forward to get a goal but showed plenty of courage to ruck on his own despite carrying plenty of niggles.

5- Riewoldt..he's no Richo and that's good thing:thumbsu:
4 -Lids...more of that please son.
3 -King credit where it's due, astill no long term answer in any serious football side, but easily his best game so far.
2- Connors..sure his haters and those who rely on stats as a crutch in every debate will pick out every turnover that his targets failed to mark or position themselves properly for, but they demonstrated last week really have NFI so I don't care.:o
1- Cotch..superb..even out Martined Martin in the strengthh stakes today...

Hons:Rance...he might just make it yet, Gus...workhorse and not nearly as dumb as he looks...Moore,does anyone else think he looks a better player outside the defensive 50? Taylor..not really an "hon" as such, but was excellent in the first quarter I thiought, faded away after that (and one of the more abysmal set shots I've seen in the 3rd) but showed enough to convince me he'll be something special.

Worst..my comments about Edwards from last week stand...absolute liabilty & hack of the highest order, hope we piss him off asap (yeah have at me clueless fanboys and stat freaks, once again..don't care..)..Thursfield...the pick of our defenders but terrible today, even taking into account some shocking decisions against him...thought Newman was quite poor today too....

Absolute worst goes to the umpires though for their continuing efforts to ruin modern footy....in the words of Lemmy the Great: DIE YOU BASTARDS!:thumbsd:

P.S. Getting sick of the poor man marking and positioning in our defensive 50...far too many easy marks to free players...happens in far too many games...also need to capitalise on opposition mistakes better, Saints were very sloppy today but were allowed to get out of trouble far too often because of either poor tackling ,more men around the ball or a combination of both..:thumbsd:

5.Jack - 7 good reasons why.
4.Deledio - Superb kicking today and contested work.
3.Cotch - Best of our mids today, crazy core strength and clearance work.
2.King - Great setup play and goals.
1.Graham - Solid ruck performance for 1 ruck.

What rustof says. My votes were the same, although I was split between Graham and Connors for 1.

Cotchin was surely in our best 3 today, in it from the first til the last contest.

5. Jack - He just commands the ball - he was worth so much more than 7 goals today. Spectacular.
4. Deledio - His skills are just sublime. Doesn't shirk the contest one iota either, and that was certainly a knock on him earlier in his career.
3. Cotchin - Strong as an ox and he's just sublimely skilled too. That goal off his left was simply spectacular.
2. King - He's a little terrier - wears his heart on his sleeve and never stops trying. He's becoming quite dangerous around goals and it makes him a better rounded prospect.
1. Graham - I thought he competed really well when up front, and he won 32 hitouts whist Pattison and McEvoy combined for 28. He competed really well all day and gives his all. Becoming a thinking man's footballer too.

Honourables:

Connors - only reason he's not in my top 5 is because he's so one sided - and that goal that came about because he went up as third man and let the ball go over the back. Much better this week. Creates so much drive.

Edwards - His weave is exquisitive. Sure he dipped out of the game late, but he's becoming a very good wingman.

Taylor - I'd love to see him do more than try and fly for a mark - lead up and try and take a bona fide contested mark or two - but that will come with time. He's classy, great shake of the hips and he tackles strongly.

Rance - Still gets into trouble a bit with the ball in the back half - but i thought defensively, and in the air, he competed really well - much improved.
