No room for Scarlett? Had 2 opponents - Bradshaw and Merrett, and neither kicked a goal. I'd say he did his job. Haynes 4??? You must be kidding. He might have taken a couple of marks but his decision making was its usual clueless self. Personally I thought Kelly our best, then Joel Corey and Matty Scarlett. Everyone else may not have turned up.

5 - Kelly
4 - Milburn
3- Kingsley (Was unlucky not to get a few more IMO, had Mal on him, double teamed occasionally and some umps decisions were awful. Delivery wasn't great either)
2 - Corey
1 - Haynes

Just got back from Bris, awful stuff.

Explanations for those who missed but made other's lists -

Scarlett - Probably a bit stiff. I thought he would have given a lot more run off the backline if he was on Bradshaw or Merrett. I thought he was over his injury/bad form with the Adelaide game.

Mooney - Got a lot of the ball but didn't appear to make an impact. Was valiant to help out with the ruck but turned the ball over too much and seemed to be outclassed all over the field (even by McLaren :().

Chambers - Awful. I understand that he was against two ruckmen. But they aren't of the highest quality. McLaren is as good or worse than him and he managed to play decently. After watching Street's effort against Lade & Primus...

Ling got a lot of the ball and fought hard. But he had little impact on the game, played better than many though.

This is turning into my thoughts on the game. Whoops.
I think we missed Playfair/King/Ottens equally. Anyone of those could have relieved the pressure in the forward line. Leppitsch seemed to set up countless goals, Charles is no CHF....

I hope nobody forgot DJ's game against the lions in the prelim last year as well. :(

But these are all excuses. Yes we had numerous injuries, yes the umpiring was atrocious, but I doubt either would have made a difference. Cornflakes made a good point when the Saints played Port and didn't give an effort. This was the team that stopped us from reaching the GF last year and we didn't seem to give a yelp.

I have confidence that Bomber will get them up though and we should play much better against the Hawks.

Cheers,
mung

5 Corey (far and above our best player this year)
4 Kelly (another 'workman' like performance'
3 Milburn (always 'Mr Reliable'
2 Scarlett (getting back to his AA best - beat 2 opponents)
1 Mooney/Haynes/Chambers/Ling (All tried hard all day)

Forget the rest

As much as I hold your opinion in high regard, and I dont, they are my votes and I shall use them as I please. I need not justify them to people like you.

Ah good the gloves are off. I never suggested anyone's votes needed to be justified. I was genuinely surprised because I thought then and still do that Scarlett was OK and far from our worst, and I also thought that Haynes had little impact. But indeed, as votes need not be justified neither does my opinion, and as you care to apply to term "people like you" to someone you don't know - sod off and die.

If you believe votes dont need justifying why did you try and justify why mine were wrong?

Perhaps you would be well advised to formulate some sort of opinion and vote yourself, rather than attack what other people have to say.

But as your opinion is better than mine for obvious reasons (being none) I guess I best do what you say and sod off and die....

I did vote myself - but I'll do it again:

3. Kelly
2. Corey
1. Scarlett

There easy. Found it really hard to find more than 3 good players to be honest. I'd hardly call my original call on Haynes a "personal attack". I've got plenty of opinions about our side and Haynes is one of the big ones. I'd love nothing more than for him to cement a spot and contribute 2-3 goals a game from here on in but given past displays I can't see it happening. If he proves me wrong fantastic. And as someone else correctly pointed out with Playfair injured, Gardiner not up to it at the moment and Mackie still lacking a body our choices are severely limited.
