Someone’s who knows about forward positioning and where to run has been in “Tomahawk’s” ear. Made a major contribution last night.

Oh, and Mick, who’s under “excruciating” pressure now? Is that the spectre of Bucks looming large over your shoulder?

5. Chapman
4. Ablett
3. Kelly
2. Johnson
1. Mooney (simply for those smothers)

Easily could have put Ling/Hawkins/Otto etc. in there.

After Gaz, "Team Effort" as they say in the Under 12s.

Didn't think we had a bad player tonight. Even Blakey managed to get a Goal Assist... :thumbsu:

5. Gary Ablett - Superstar. Does things no other player in the league can do...
4. Paul Chapman - So critical to our success. 26 quality touches...
3. James Kelly - Gun. Top game...
2. Joel Corey - Everywhere man. Loved his goal...
1. Cameron Ling - Wanted to put Jimmy in here but to keep Swan to 17 and get plenty of it himself is a top effort. Got some good clearances too...

No idea, watching the game I kept thinking, no obvious BOG and no obvious bad game, fantastic time of the year to play an all round team game!

Ablett was clearly the BOG.
He was the man when it counted.
You give him the ball anywhere on the ground and he gets the team out of trouble with his strength and pace.
Sure Chappy was great but come on he kicked 3 junk time goals.
Kelly was so cool in defence it wasnt funny.

Very tough game to pick, don't think there would have been anyone under a B+ standard Saturday night.

I've watched it 3 times now and yeah, just looking at the votes, it's staggering Kelly hasn't featured more often. He was superb. I didn't have him in my top 5, yet at the same time, I'm happy with the guys I picked.

Super signs when you can play as well as he did and still be matched or bettered by around half a dozen others.

That was as good as a team game we've player all year. Awesome signs going into next week.

Thought Kelly was very good as well as Byrnes. Both deserve acknowledgment for really good games. If these two play well then we such a better all round side. However it was the usual suspects that really performed. Ablett was sensational, Chapman and Hawkins might just scare a few backmen yet and if SJ can kick 1 or 2 more goals - then things are looking very bright for Saturday.
