I bow to black pup and his wisdom. He called it early that he believed the Dogs could beat Adelaide.

Also the Webb Slinger's left foot will be an awesome weapon in the coming years.
Here here, half way through the third qtr I thought of BP and his call early in the week... Great judge

What fantastic back defensive six. Murph the silk, Moyd and Wood - both excellent intercepts and use of the ball, Talia - absolutely fantastic use of the body on a top player and his marking was first rate, doesn't wrestle his opponent but times his run, JJ - best game I have seen him play, pace, teamwork and ball use, Rough even got into the ruck and forward line.

Great team cohesion and all credit to the coach for implementing a system within a few months. Future is looking promising, maybe I will see another one day in September. :)

Really liked Webb since I saw him in Ballarat against Melbourne, this kid is Gilbee with aerial skills, for last few years biggest concern was across half back, and this kid is not a maybe about making it, he is real deal that you can lock into half back.

Nearly everyone did their bit and watching us play at moment is so much more exciting than last couple of years.

Talia - Don't know which is more bewildering, the fact half our supporters didn't even rate him to make it as a player or that he couldn't get a game behind Austin all of last year, sign him up, linchpin of our defence for next decade.[/QUOTE

What is impressive about Webb is how strong he is in the contest, looks like he will be great in the midfield. Then again he marks well and kicks bullets 2 foot off the ground. Hard to know how slipped to 24 in the draft.

I literally sit there saying he is going to miss this set shot to the right. Rarely lets me down.

Perhaps the oppostion strategy should be let Stringer lead and take marks for set shots - he'll just miss. Kind of like letting a basketball player take wide open jump shots when you know he's shooting bricks.

It's ok, Jake is improving, he had a 33% success rate today from set shots! 67% next week followed by 100% for the rest of the year! Basic maths :P

What I am enjoying the most is the game plan. It's quite surprising how it has been executed consistently since the NAB cup. The relentless pressure & tackling, willingness to play-on quickly, take opponents on, runs through and from half back, winning the hardball, defenders zoning off and intercepting. When the players execute (like today) we win big. It's a kamikaze approach in the front 2/3's of the ground, with a sound defensive structure. Imagine if we had kicked straighter, we could have kicked over 150points.

Great win, Dog supporters

I do work for RCH hospital and hearing rumours that Good Friday is between 4 teams with North nearly securing 1 spot but other spot going to next best exciting team, last few weeks Dogs games have been super exciting to watch. What do you think Dogs need to do to secure the slot? I'd like to think Blues will play in it but having my doubts due to poss directions in which club is going but still chsnce IMO to play in it

Your 6 Fridays nights this year will probably end the Blues chances (I hope).

That defence was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, enjoyed every minute, Murphy, Moyd, Talia, Wood, Roughead, JJ, and Webb. Superb, thanks i'm looking forward to work tomorrow, don't wanna brag but will.

Let's keep a little perspective, we are still a young side and will fall away a little later in the year. Having said that, we are going to worry some teams expected to smash us.

I think we will keep getting better as the season goes on which happened 2 years ago (but not last year). Winning away from Etihad will be a problem but at Etihad we will be nearly unbeatable. Freo game in 2 weeks will be interesting.

Dogs deserve better prime time
I would easily replace Tigers v Demons on Friday night this rd with Dogs v Crows

Tigers not playing exciting football. Maybe on paper Dogs v Crows not appealing to most fans spec Vic Audience unlike match above

Fantastic performance by the boys tonight. Back to playing exciting, hard running footy of the late 2000s.

Still going to be ups and downs this year but in another year or two we could be scary good.

Go doggies!!

Tipped us by 60... I was close.

I eat humble pie when Ayce was named as only ruck I changed by tip to Adelaide. Ayce got beaten but gave us a contest.
His mobility, skills and fitness (noticed he out lasted Jacobs in the last quarter) were impressive but he has a lot to learn about positioning for the tap. Mind you Minson was smashed by Maric in the the taps against Richmond, so who knows if we would have been any better off with Minson. I personally like Campbell as a tap ruck but am not sure about how he would run a game out.

What about that! Was one of the best game I've seen us play in my few years as a Doggies member. Absolute domination from the start and our pressure was fantastic. Stringer, Bontempelli, Smith, M Boyd just to name a few I thought were great. Just imagine how good it will be to have Libba back.

I think we also play quite good at the MCG which is very important.

The team was fantastic but by any measure the supporters are disappointing. Can't get 20000 to a game on our home ground when so much effort and brilliance is on display. Take away a substantial number of Crows fans and we are left with a very ordinary showing from our supporters. No excuses, we need to do better.
