Good

- Tippett's last quarter.

- Goodwin, BOG by miles. Don't want him to leave but glad he's treating every game like his last. We will miss you.

- Danger's goal.

- Henderson, this guy has come out of nowhere and has a beautiful kick. Massive potential :thumbsu: Can't wait to see more!

- Jaensch, see above.

Bad

- Fox commentators, bias to WC, can't differentiate between Walker and Tippett, Jackovich umm can't umm articulate umm his umm words ummmmmmmm hurr durr.

- Game plan - the minute pressure is applied to the boys, it goes out the window. The zone works great when the opposition is prevented from running with the ball but today showed how it doesn't take much of a run for the plan to collapse.

- Danger's first two and a half quarters. His goal was boner worthy.

- Subiaco, what's the point of putting a cover on the ground and then dumping the water on the wing. The ground looked shit, footy bounced like a rock.

Ugly

- Umpires, can't blame them for a shit performance but they were awful, HTB calls inconsistent, clear marks not given and pointless free 50s for both sides, players not over the line, I don't like the direction it's heading in.

- Coldplay - do they only have one album available at the ground aside from the teams songs.

Umpiring was shit; probably in our favour though?

Good game by a lot of the lads; Thommo was huge, Goody dominant, Dangerfield a star, Sloane a gun.

But for mine, Hendo and Jaensch were the most exciting, those two have come from the clouds and have repeatedly made big contributions.

Sloane, Jaensch or Hendo should get a Rising Star nomination.

I absolutely agree with this. They were all fantastic, but my pick would have to be Sloane. Looked like a veteran out there today. Having said that, I haven't seen any other games this week, but surely...

The bad: Armstrong. Okay, maybe not bad, but in comparison to the other young guys, I think he looked a little slow at times, lacking confidence perhaps, and his small frame wasn't helping his contested work.

Good:

Tipphenderwalk!
Jaensch
Danger
Douglas
Thompson
Goodwin (probs bog)

Bad:
Stevens - Probably contributed to 3 or 4 of West Coast's goals with some really poor decision making. Although he took some good marks and ran off his opponent well it wasn't enough to make him good. Hopefully comes out for Bock next week.
Fox coverage. Jacko can't not barrack for West Coast. And no Song?

Ugly:
Umpiring.. Awful for the whole game. Bias to Eagles for the first half, bias to us in the 3rd then equal in the last. HTB decisions were baaadd.....
Goals from over the top of the zone!!!1!~@!@one

GOOD:

Reilly on Priddis
Walker
Henderson
Vince back to his awesome best! Was class class class
Thompson (as above)
Doughty... very very very solid
All the good things Stevens did

BAD:
Umpiring in the 1st half... I was calling scandal! Glad it reversed itself in the 2nd half!
All the bad things Stevens did

UGLY:
Blank
Stevens attempt at a sly hold on LeCras! About as obvious as a heart attack! Makes me want to strangle him sometimes!

1st Rule of Don't Hold Club! Don't Hold!

Pretty happy with most guys in the side today. Although I thought Armstrong was intimidated by the physicality of the game and will probably go straight out for McLeod next week.

I think Armstrong will be a player if he works on his strength a bit more.

I think Bock will come in for Stevens as well. I don't think Stevens had a terrible game, his first half was good and his second half was bad. Unfortunately he was poorer than Rutten and Davis, so out of the tall defenders he would need to make way.

(from the 2nd half, missed the first half)
Good
-Young players, all looking very skillful/fitting in with the game plan.
-Henderson had a great game, used the ball really well
-Walker and Tippett combination seemed to work pretty well, worked well together. 4th quarter Walker went up for the mark, brought it to the ground and tapped it to Tippett's advantage and shepherded off his man.
-Sloane's ability to take on the other team and the ability to run though players.
-TACKLING, we were sticking our tackles really well. Been a while since I have seen us stick so many tackles in a match (hopefully we can do the same against Geelong).
-No strapping on Porps shoulders (starting to get a bit of confidence in them?)

Bad

-Commentary was not the best (fox that is)
-Not been able to finish off the 16th team earlier in the match

Ugly

-Dangerfield giving it his all to spoil the ball which resulted in a hard clash with Naitanui. He makes me panic every time I see him leave the ground because he will go at it 100% every time.

lol whatever

Well done on the win today, your lot deserved the win - too much class all over the field.

Couple of other things:
I agree completely with you guys regarding Jacko's commentary, I can't stand listening to his blatant bias and inability to string words together. Don't hold it against us Eagles fans:p

Also, as good a player as Dangerfield is (better than Ebert- not debating that), I lost all respect for him today. A blatant diver and has taken ducking your head to a whole new level. He'd want to fix this up as it's probably the easiest way to lose respect as a player, which would be a shame because he could go on to become a great player for your club.

Good
Too many players that played well - bugger all passengers
Stepped up in the last quarter when the WA crowd was going bunta.

Bad
Atrocious holding the ball decisions
Unlucky posters -How many did we have 5?

Ugly
No song
No.11 in green

Perhaps once:rolleyes:if he can get it to Kerrs level I wouldnt be proud of it.

More than once pal, I wouldn't come on here and post this otherwise. As I said, huge fan of his abilities as a player, but geez he'd want to fix this part of his game up.

GOOD:
- Danger's cracking goal (and second half) that rivalled the one he kicked last week.
- Tippett's last quarter, stood up at the right time and helped bury WCE.
- Jaensch and Henderson, they've both got brilliant kicks and they never seem to miss, loved their celebrations too.
- Goodwin; he is still a superstar
- Vince; he's back to his best, no?
- Walker; kicked 1.4 but that was in no way representative of his performance
- The fight after half time, yes we were struggling some of the time, but we never faded from view
- Sloane; he is ALWAYS in the pack/contest
- Thompson; continuing his great form

BAD:
- The many occasions where the backline was inhabited by Eagles players who took the opportunity

UGLY:
- The umpiring; just ugh
- Fox commentators; it was the "everything WCE show" plus they didn't show the club song in the end

Good:
  • Kept our nerve in a tense game. In the end, we were better. That's good, too.
  • Ruck and clearance work - set up the win.
  • Unless some unkown plays a blinder, we will get a Rising Star nom out of this - Sloane, Davis or Jaensch.
  • Hendo's goals
  • Walker's assists and goal
  • Sloane's first goal. :thumbsu: Brilliant: the generous assist from Walker
  • Tipp's goals when they counted.
  • Jaensch's goals - how good a kick is Crow 48?
  • Another goal-of-the-round for Danger :D
  • Forwards working for each other against good defenders, and winning.
Bad:
  • tough game on a heavy ground in the west, only 6 days before a Friday nighter against the Cats.
  • Not so bad: the Cats had a tough one against the Hawks.
  • Decision not to play a sweeper - although this may be harsh, difficult to see on TV why opposition forwards were frequently behind and clear of our defence on quick breaks.
I enjoyed this win - not everything went right, the Eagles were desperate, but we ground out a win on our hoodoo ground.

Never noticed it - I'll probably watch the replay and have a look, but the kid is already one of the hardest at the ball players in the comp, I can't recall seeing him take a dive...

Tex only kicked 1.4, but I think it was one of his best games; definitely the most selfless and 'team-first' game I can remember him playing; if he'd kicked straight and finished with 3.2, would've been a huge day for him.

Stevens, just constantly makes bad decisions. :(

That is one awesome future forwardline what we seen today Im loving Ricky Henderson the more he plays and Matty Jaenach could be the crumbing forward we have been craving for.

My only bad was we got ripped apart defensively on the rebound.

Bad

To be fair they're just inept in general. Got Eagles players mixed up just as much. Commentary in Australia sucks.

Good game by your mob, you've done well to turn it around this season and your domination in the clearances during the last quarter gave you a deserved win.

This is crap... please go to the effort of showing a single example with some video footage. I remember seeing one which might have been soft... not a dive... and then the replay actually showed he was hit high... to the point where he actually took time to recover.

Please please show a single example of Dangerfield diving... at the very least give the quarter and time clock of an incident which could be reviewed. I'll reserve my 'F*** off' until I see that it isn't true... out of respect!

To be fair... I think you are confusing a kamikaze attack on the ball which in effect actually cost us with multiple htb decisions against the monster in the first half!

It happened 3 times today I think. He may have been brushed on the head slightly but he throws his head back to make sure the umpire thinks he was completely whacked.

GOOD:
Lots of contributors in close game.
Tex kept working hard when not all going his way
Running goals by Jaensch - 3 beauties
Sloan!! (Get a respirator to Stabby's place)
Great game by Goody
Tippett's last half
Thompson and Danger in tight

BAD
Eevan on sleeping pills in first half
Goals over back of zone

UGLY
Disgraceful telecast today by Fox - was there only one team there?
McLaren - always tries to take away any chance we have

Enlighten us with some video...

or it never happened! and is tasting like sour grapes!

Garbage.

Throws his head over the footy every single time - it's about time players like him are rewarded for going and getting the ball first - rather than the guys who jump in on that players back.
