I am travelling down to Melbourne for the Melbourne vs West Coast game. I have Victorian Membership, so I can upgrade my tickets to N30 or N31, which is second deck, in the pocket (almost behind the goals). The other option is to take the general admission approach for no extra costs, but last time I went (vs Richmond), I could only get behind the goals on the bottom deck, which wasnt ideal. Is there anywhere else I can get to in the ground with general admission? Or is it worthwhile upgrading the tickets for $13 each?

Victorian membership gives you access to all general admission. That means you can get a seat anywhere on lvl 3.

Usually if you get there early enough you can get a seat on the wing, which is great viewing. But I don't expect a big crowd against the dees so you should have no trouble finding good seating. And if you're game, you can get into the MCC area by jumping their shitty fence (which is waste high) on level 1.

A few years back at Optus Oval only 6,000-odd turned up to a Demons - Eagles game. I wouldn't be surprised if only 15,000 turned up for this game.

We just walk up and swipe our cards at the MCG. You should have your choice of 90k seats.

Level 3 seats can give a great view of the ground. So, we would not pay the additional.

If you have to go to the dome, pay for level 2 seats. Will cost more, but makes it almost worthwhile being there (I hate the place)

Thanks fellas. I think I'll brave the crowds and try and get a seat on the wing on level 3.

Mate i'll be sitting in those seats you talk about part of my membership is to get those seats, and you get a very good view of the ground it would be worth the $13 extra dollars, but in saying that being that the game is against Melbourne the GA seats will be ok if you sit towards the back rows should have a decent view.

With the Vic members you only have access to the GA areas - which are mostly crap at the MCG - it's the top level and neither wing is available (one side MCC members, other AFL members)

Well worth spending the cash

Well, if the wings are unavailable, I reckon it is probably best to spend the extra couple of dollars. Looking forward to it. Thanks again guys.

There's what almost 100,000 seats? You'll have no trouble finding the perfect seat, it's not like there's going to be anyone there to stop you lol.

Except you can't get into the decent parts

Might be less staff on for this game but they man those gates pretty tight
