My mates and I are heading down to watch it. Should be a good game, but WA should win comfortably.
Question if swannies or anyone else knows - we booked our tickets and got given a row and seat numbers. Do we have to sit there or is it just sit where you please because another mate is getting a ticket and we're not sure if he'll be able to sit with us or not.

Didn't think it was that kind of stadium where they actually had rows and seat numbers haha.

I don't think it is, last time I was there when swannies played peel earlier this year most of the ground was grass and then half was seats. I doubt they will allocated seats. :)

I note that Josh Pullman is in the Qld squad. That being said, and no disrespect to Josh, if he's in the squad WA should win by 10+ goals.

The number of withdrawals from the WAFL team makes me wonder how serious they are. On the other hand additions to the QLD, rather NEAFL, side with its numerous NT additions makes it stronger than usual. I predict a closer game than usual.

As for the "new stadium". I hear the change rooms have been built with plasterboard so players are not allowed to kick and handball in them in case they put a hole in the wall . ..

I note that Josh Pullman is in the Qld squad. That being said, and no disrespect to Josh, if he's in the squad WA should win by 10+ goals.

I read in The West This morning that there is a strong possibility the game will not go ahead

Shit whys that?

Ah just checked it. Thought as much.

THE West Australian Football League State Game will go ahead at 2.15pm this Saturday, June 18, after Queensland confirmed this morning that their flight would depart on time from Brisbane

Pretty pathetic effort by WAFL overall I thought.

Yep, concur completely. I was very, very disappointed. No urgency, no pressure in the last. Some blokes who had good days beforehand really let themselves down with that last 15 minutes.

It was typified with 1 passage where Salecic? I think, thought the ball went out in the LFP for WA and stopped chasing, the Qld player kept running, somehow kept the ball in and then rebounded to the other end of the ground. WA, whether they had run themselves out, I'm not sure, but let them run away from them after that. I've been trying to get into my junior team that once you flick that switch off, it's nigh impossible to switch back on.

Wilkes is pathetic. How the **** is he wanted by GWS?

He is such a lazy footballer.

My best players were: Lecras, Mitchell, Brabazon and Blackwell. Bit of bias with 3/4 Claremont players but its just what I saw.

My mate made the comment that WA always plays uncontested footy, and how right he was. How can you have 200 more possies and win by a goal. Weak and pathetic football. Wilkes should never play forward, shows more motivation as a backmen.

Richardson, whom I rate enormously was awful.

Maybe I just didn't notice it, but nothing in the Sunday Times about the game. That's pretty poor, or did I just flick over two pages at once?

I would add Lee to the best players.

The uncontested footy comment is interesting, because Qld obviously saw it the same way. There was something said about how they had brought a team of contested footy winners over for this game. On the broadcast Spinner also said something about the Qld coach saying something along the lines of we are not a chip around type team like WA, so let's not play that way.

There was a fair few guys who play very well at WAFL level that struggled, Richardson was one of them, I thought Salecic and Bartholomew were also fairly poor as well.

I'd add Josh Smith to the best players list as well, his five second half goals basically won us the game.

Wilkes should never play period, the guys is an absolute spud of the highest order. Awful player.

Richardson, whom I rate enormously was awful.

Stats were not correct that is how. For example Zorko QLD's best player on offiicial stats had 22 possies and only 5 in the last quarter. He kicked 3 goals in the last 1/4 and had it on a string apparently, and blokes I know that were there said he would have had at least 30-35 for the match and 12 in the last 1/4 alone.

The only stat that matters is the final score and WA won and have never been beaten by QLD, but I think all would concede that QLD were competitive and worthy opponents.
