Had the chance to impose at a contest instead hung back his man went in won the ball he just spectated and did nothing. An inanimate carbon rod would have done more

East Perth have zero intensity, they're drilled as a marking and kicking side and if the ball hits the deck they're quickly swamped.

They don't have any intention of letting the ball hit the ground and no intent on winning it when it goes to ground. As such they don't take any offensive risks and wind up stagnating and making stupid negatively minded decisions. Unlike past years they don't have McGovern, Lycett, Sinclair and Barrass to save them with contested marking excellence.

Throw in the fact they're playing just one actual forward in Lamb and it's a recipe for disaster.

They've now dropped their heads and are now losing most of the ball out of the middle, the lack of gel amounts the mods is noticeable in the guts, nobody is getting clean hands to team mates to generate space.

Hutchings, Jetta have made poor decisions, Sheed well held by a soft tag. Some critical turn overs from them and others like Rotham, Blee, Karpany as well as the East Perth originals.

Easy to have a go at the players on a one by one basis, but as a team these problems are identifiable at the top and fixable. Playing a game style that doesn't suit the personnel available is clearly the problem.

Move Sheed to the back flank if he's getting tagged, get Venerables into the play and stop playing him as a marking target. Play Hutchings forward if you get supply and need some defensive edge to trap the ball inside 50.

This is bad for our development and future AFL performances.
