EP games/byes since the alignment
2014 : 8-B-LB-4-B-2-B-6
2015 : 3-B-5-LB-4-B-7-B-1
2016 : 7-B-4-LB-1-B-4-B-4
2017 : 7-B-2-LB-1-B-3-B-7
In 2014 they didn't play a game in a 3 week period when their bye went back to back with the league bye (LB) for the state game
This year has been the worst with all 4 byes sandwiched into a 10 week block through the middle of the season and 3 instances where they play 3 or fewer games before the next bye
The hard thing is that on this board most will think that the WAFL should do what is right for West Coast. The WAFL must do a fixture that's right for its 9 clubs and for some reason these days fixturing is difficult. Never used to be by the way.
Just as I think the AFL should I think a rolling concurrent fixture should be in place, basically you get a bye every 8 weeks. Unfortunately the clubs want derbies and rivalry games and therefor you end up wth these issues of 3 byes in 10 weeks.
Like everything in modern footy something very simple to do is made complicated.
