This was mentioned on sport fm radio not so long ago.
I don't know the exact number but it is a lot less than Victoria.
In WA, we only have 7 PSA schools - Aquinas, Guildford, Hale, Wesley, Christchurch, Scotch and Trinity. Three of those are in the Claremont zone - not withstanding boarders from out of zone country areas and kids who get a scholarship.
I could go on for hours about the WAFL zones - the quirks, but I won't. Having said that, it is one of the interesting things about the WAFL zones. The demographics.
Having lived in Melbourne briefly, I can say that the two cities are chalk and cheese. Perth has a massive gulf between the Dalkeith and the Mirrabooka.
Spent most of my 1st 30 years there, saw Subi win the 87 flag, played footy in Perth (just no good), so I've got the basics, more so Subi than across the WAFL. I see one of the strengths of the WAFC is the zoning by WAFL clubs.
Always remember some of the PSA kids sitting on the bench for a Colts WAFL team to be allowed to nominate for the draft, hence my interest in how many of the Colts kids you mention fall into that category.
