Swift and Wilkes on TV atm.

Well, we had a close comp for half a season, at least, but it now looks like Subi are asserting there superiority. Can anyone stop them in the second half of the season? Hopefully we have a calmer day this weekend, although I must say I enjoyed the maelstrom that Naitanui whipped up at Subi Oval on Saturday night. :D:thumbsu: Only Swans boys can put on a freak show like that, whilst controlling the weather and making it fit the occasion!

So lets get into this weeks round, with games becoming more critical by the week for those teams outside the 4 and those in the 4 as well.

Royals v Subi - Last time they played EP were farewelling one of their favourite sons and caused a boil over. Can EP bring the same conviction and passion that saw them cause the upset and has since got them only 2 games out of the 4? Will EP welcome back Duncan and Hutchings? Subi have been helped by the Eagles saying NO to left footers, which has them looking a lot stronger. Surely someone will run with Fletcher, or stay close enough to put pressure on? We have Robinson up against Newick and Rix, tough ask. Then there's Humm, Noakes (B), Wulff, Cowell, McAulay, Hutchins v Read, Fletcher, Cockie, Nicoski, Cossom, Keevers et al. Looks a bit more depth to Subi's running rotations so I will lean towards the Lions triumphing in this one.

Bulldogs v Tigers - again, a danger game for Souths, because the tiges have had a happy knack of knocking off the Bullies in the past few years. The young tigers have been on the improve lately, with fringe AFL listed players Stevenson and McGinnity, may be more but these are the 2 I've noted, improving strongly in the last month. The bulldogs will be stinging from the loss to the Lions at home last week, so I expect them to come out strongly. Wilson has been in a rich vein of goalkicking form and he may be on his own this week, if Murphy gets called up. Further weakening the Dogs might be Gilmore going to the Dockers as well. Should be a very interesting game, but I suspect the Bulldogs will prevail.

Swans v Sharks - a critical game for the Sharks, with their finals aspirations, makes it a danger game for the Swans. Unfortunately I'll be at the EP game (auskick day for their district) so won't see my mighty black and whites tackle the Sharks. The sharks would be desperately praying for some AFL players to be dropped, whilst I think Naitanui should be dropped for a "poor 3 quarters" last week as well :D. New recruit Rhys Peedle is expected to be unveiled against the Sharks, sharing ruck duties with Spaanders. The Sharks have a reasonable running brigade still, led by McNamara and Dunn and with the addition, possibly, of Lucas and Sheppard, look dangerous. Although, they have to counter Jetta, Roberts, Lange, Davis, Robinson and Twomey. What will be interesting is which colts players get exposed to league, because the Sharks have a veritable school of them out there this year and Swans have some handy ones too. Not confident, but leaning towards the Swans, just!

Falcons v Demons - a timely meeting for the Falcons, to be played back into form. They let a chance against the Tigers slip last week and now they have to redeem themselves to keep a grip on 4th, especially if the Sharks and Tigers win. Bradley may go back to the Dockers, but there is still enough firepower in LeCras, Campbell (if he wants to play), Keunen, Seaby, Strijk, Salecic, Tsalikis to defeat the under performing Demons. With Moody, Thornton, Ferguson, Armstrong, Cook (if avail), K-T, Young, Dick - they look an OK side and certainly not bottom of the ladder. sorry Demons fans, again, but I can't see the dees causing a boil over at the Arena.

Hopefully you all have magnificent footy weekends, Sharks supporters excepted, and may the sun shine on us on Saturday arvo. :thumbsu:

Wilson playing well for Souths and Wilkes has taken some strong grabs for Claremont. Haven't seen much of Swift but they mentioned he was on Bell who is having a field day. Not sure I believe them though

Murphy and Head for us are playing like usual i.e crap

Bells output has been good but his not that damaging and Swift was only on him in the center. Claremont look more dangerous and from my notes Swift did not come onto the ground till the ten minute of the first quarter. Ive got Swift with nine touches to half time, seven in the second quarter.

Lol. Bell has been BOG by a long way.

Not sure why Swift has changed the way he played earlier in the year for the Tigs, seems to playing a more outside role.

Callum Wilson deserves a call up. He'd be a better option from the square than Lecras and Mckinely.

Would straighten you up a whole lot more.

Hansen has kicked 5 for the Swans at the 20 minute mark of the third.

Callum Wilson lighting it up at the miunute, kicked 6 straight - straight swap for McKinley the spud methinks...

Yep, so we'll need to put Mckinley on the LTI list, a chronic bout of, uh, shitness ought to do it...

Wilson is a genuine lead up forward which is essentially Lynch's old role. If he plays, doesnt that mean there is no role at all for Lynch in the forward line?

Swift: 23 touches, 4 marks and 3 tackles.(apparently spent a lot of time on the bench)

McGinnity: 18 touches, 5 mark, 2 tackles, 3 inside 50's.

Wilkes: 14 touches, 8 marks, 1 goal 1.

Wilson: 14 touches, 7 marks and 6 goals straight.

Stevenson: 19 touches, 4 marks and 1 goal.

(Reserves)Bedford: 17 touches, 3 marks and 5 tackles.

Perth vs West Perth

Seaby: 25(20 kicks and 5 handballs) touches, 28 hitouts ,6 marks, 4 tackles, 3 inside 50's and 1 behind.

Smith: 18 touches, 2 marks and 3 tackles, 1 behind.

Sullivan: 12 touches, 23 hitouts, 4 marks and 1 goal.

Swan Districts vs East Freo

Houlihan: 22 touches, 3 marks and 6 inside 50's.(houlihan's stats are from 3 qtr time)

Davis: 21 touches, 3 marks, 1 behind, 2 inside 50's.

Hansen: 14 touches, 10 marks, 4 tackles, 4 inside 50's and 5 goals 1.

Notte: 12 touches, 4 marks and 1 goal.

Swift game was ok.

Got little game time in the first quarter, thus 3 touches in the first quarter.
Played more from the center square today early on going their in the first and second, got 4 hard ball gets while playing the middle in the first and second term, also six of his first half touches where contested. Seemed very lost in the third Quarter as did most of the Claremont side, again got three touches. Was prolific in the last quarter picking up 11 or 12 touches playing out of the backline, was great at linking up and rebounding.

Disposal efficeny was top notch with one bad hanpass (still got to his man), two bad kicks, one was out on the full and the other was a little long to Woods on the lead. But a disposal efficeny of 87% wraps up a solid performance. Was probably one of Claremonts best, along with C.Jones.

lewis jetta had an interview on the western front and the interviewer asked has any AFL clubs approached you and he said yeah 15 out of 16. and went to say "i want the eagles to pick me, i really want to play for the west coast eagles".:thumbsu::thumbsu:

He should tell all the other clubs that he'll be back in 2 years if they choose him :thumbsu::thumbsu:

eagles should tell him to tell all the clubs to get stuffed and he doesn't want to play for him and will pick him up with our 4th rounder.:thumbsu:
