Sorry people, not much time for having a life or even enjoying my footy at the moment. Will start with a brief write up of the Subi v Falcons game tonight, then try and finish later.
Lions v Falcons, Fri night
Well, it's 2 great rivals of recent times clashing at Leederville Oval tonight. WP seemed impressive pre-season and Subi look to have recruited some handy players, whilst sending their reserves to Perth.
Subi relied too much on Broady last year and they obviously saw this. Danny Hughes looks a very good prospect. Bristow is back after a disastrous run with injuries (hopefully I haven't jinxed him), Cockie looks primed for a very good sesaon, if he can just curb that aggression.
The Falcons look to have a very good running side, but not sure about their big man stocks, especially with Darling called up early to the Eagles. Is Kepler back this week, injured, or with the Dockers? (that's how much I've kept up with footy of late).
Should be a cracking match, great conditions and I think the Falcons will get over the line by 2-3 goals.
Tigers v Swans, Claremont Oval
With Swans having lost the first match, I think a little more emotion will come into this game. Claremont have more to gain, emotionally, IMO, but Swans probably wouldn't want to go 0-2 at the start of the season. Both teams have different strengths, with Swans being in height and Claremont's being in running. McKenzie and DeBoer further strengthen the AFL reserves team and probably make it even harder for Swans to win.
For Swans to get close, a few guys that were ordinary, or MIA last week, need to step up. Hunter was awful for me, Davis no better and the defence tried to play about 5 metres off their player, just for kicks and giggles. James tagged Wulff most of the game, got in the best players I don't know how, was continually 10-15m behind him. Lammie, is it too late to reverse that transfer to Peel?

Royals v Doggies, Leederville Oval
This shaped as a ripping match, until I saw both Bairstows in the Sowfs line up. I mean, it's like Lammie being in Swans line up, for crying out loud! So I have to change my tips now.
The Royals played a good, even game last week, were first to the ball and delivered well inside 50. Probably didn't make the most of their ascendancy. Josh Smith looks a huge bonus at present, along with Chartres, Lee and Sweet continued their strong form from the end of last year and guys like Polak and Pettifer are going to make the most of their opportunities, so you have to lock tight on them.
On the other hand Souths have Murphy full time, with Wilson back this weekend (maybe?). Graham fit is a big asset. Their run is going to be pivotal, with the likes of Dell-Olio, Cook and Collica. Cook could be a good get, whilst Dell-olio needs to re-find the 2009 form to really push Sowfs back up the tabe.

Demons v Sharks, Lathlain (it will always be Lathlain to me)
Well, the demons have the chance to get their season off to a bright start, whilst the Sharks have the chance to put their demons off last week behind them. Both teams also need to make the most of having their AFL players, because they may lose them later in the season.
The demons have lost quite a few players but gained a few. Zucconi returns and probably give some stability to the back line. Damon White is their biggest catch, but he is 30/31, so it will be interesting to see the impact. Citizen Kane at CHF is a good get, because I rated him pretty highly when he was at EP a couple of years ago, really like his attack and hardness at the ball. Seamus Young on the wing is also a very handy in. Butler and Smith to HB makes the defence pretty solid, so kicking goals against should be difficult. Look a good team this season, but they have before and delivered little.
The Sharks have Kerr for another week, with a new NOI procedure he'll need to be a bit more careful.
Presumably he'll get a few more minutes than last week, so probably play three quarters. The O'Brien brothers are reunited on the FF line, happy times eh.
Griffin in the ruck should give the Sharks an advantage, although McDougall did play well there last year. I think this game is also hard to split and we should see another highly entertaining match.
