Blee is as weak as ever.

Bloody hell you've got a chip on your shoulder about non-Eagles listed East Perth players!

You guys are absolute masters at picking key position players out of WA. Don't know if there's a common denominator who's responsible for the scouting and selections of Darling, McGovern, McInness, Sinclair (I know he was a Vic expat), Colledge (whilst not being developed as a KPP), Barrass has made enormous improvements this season and Powell is only just getting used to league football but it's evident that there is definitely something there. Darling was the only obvious call out of the lot of them, so to identify these guys considering that most of them were considered marginal talents in the under 18 system is very impressive. I make that point as I was watching on with envy as Darling dominated the game yesterday in his first step back into a competitive match situation.

How much has Ryan Davis improved since he was with you guys five or so years back? Having a brilliant year. You could see that he was a pretty damaging sort of player back then with his powerful running and kicking, but I don't remember him ever really getting enough of the footy. Is he just that much fitter these days or is it something else?

Davis at Wafl level has the responsibility , same with notte, I think with the eagles with all their injuries more responsibility to players like , sheppard ,hill , butler they have thrived with the responsibility thrown upon them . As for picking key players in wafl and identifying talent , that is a talent all on its own

Why isn't lycett getting more ruck time at the moment ? It was because of his inability to compete in the ruck that he was dropped and has been stuck in the forward line since . Johnson in the ruck is stunting his development IMO

He was injured last week with a bad corkie, might have still be a bit sore from it this week.

No it wasnt, he was dropped because he spent the majority of his playing time forward and Sinclair was deemed to be the better forward. Lycett was sent back to work on his forwardline movement.

Copped a big cork in first 5 min last week, so he went forward and did what he could (4 goals). May have still been affected this week

Well he was getting towelled in the ruck by everyone but wood from Carlton . Could barely win a tap against minson and sandi .
If he was sent back just for his forward work the coaching staff are stupid to not make him work on his rucking also .
Lycett not rucking because of a bad Corkie sounds much more likely than your one dimensional theory of needing forward work only .
If you haven't noticed our back up ruck does a lot of rucking .
Natanui isn't one of these endurance beasts .

Don't rate N.Blee and haven't since I watched him in the U18 champs. Add in Payne, Fraser and Hart isn't that great. Wulff simply because of where he's playing and his age. Probably keeping a developing talent out of their best 22. Hille should be playing ahead of him IMO.

Gilbert, Chatley, Hille, Harding, Zambotto, Shanahan, Hodgson are the ones I rate coming through.

B.Lee has been a liability at stages in 2015 due to his fitness and health.

Fair post, but I disagree with your assessment of Fraser. Think he's one of the Royals most consistent performers and someone who can always be relied upon. He's almost certainly too small to go up another level, but I really like the way he plays the game.

You're right, I reckon Blee is a bit of a non-descript player, as a younger guy coming through he seemed to relish playing in a more purely defensive role. At Port and now East Perth he kind of fell/falls into the half and half bracket and hasn't excelled at either since returning to the WAFL.

Wulff is a different issue, but I think the benefit of him being there as a senior guy who's the life of the side is plain to see. He's courageous, still quick and has the kind of passion that you can't help but admire. If he wasn't there I would wager that West Coast would have been very keen to see an Adam Selwood type take over that role so I don't think it's a matter of keeping younger players out.

Lee hasn't had a good year this year, but is highly regarded as a leader and a role model. His performances over the past few years stack up very well against any state league player.

I just reckon that these guys (+ Johnson, Clutterbuck etc) have done very well with the transition. Johnson in particular - was very selfless during that phase when both Lycett and Sinclair were playing WAFL and accepted a reduced role in the forward pocket.

On the players you mentioned coming through I really like the look of Giblett as a potential rookie pick as soon as this year - think he ticks a lot of boxes for his athleticism, aggression and versatility. Would require a few more chances at league level to give this a chance though. I think once Barass makes the inevitable transition to becoming an AFL regular Chatley will also make for a very good replacement.

our midfield was looking great until we added scooter to it and soon we're faced with having to add rosa to it too

the disposal hack look to our midfield is suddenly resurfacing...
yes the loss ratio increases . would prefer hutchings over selwood .

The reserves go down by 48 in the end.

Adamson - 28 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 5 i50s, 1.1
Cavka - 10 disposals, 4 marks, 0.1
Main - 18 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles, 4 i50s, 1.1
My answer was buried further back than I'd ventured... Few more weeks in the reserves for Cavka then hopefully a few in the seniors before a token (but earned) AFL debut to round out his year.

Magginess deserves it more than Cavvy
