Wait for the iPhone5 or get the SIII?

I want to be able to use my phone with one hand though.

If that happens ill buy an 8250 with blue screen.

s3 with ubuntu will be awesome.

interfaces will be more gesture based so instead of reaching for a button you do a gesture.

i can't operate an s3 with one hand either but the extra screen space makes the phone so much better for browsing, reading, movies etc.

Did this with a Nokia a few years back and it lived with some drying via rice...was telling a woman I was sitting with at a meeting a few days later about my 'save'.......she gagged.

seen s3's 3g going for as little as $400. any guesses on the s4 price?

if it was $700 at a guess i don't think it offers an additional $300 value over an s3? (unless you need 4g which also can be got very cheaply now in a s3 4g)

It'll be around the $700 range, as usual with new phones.

Same as when the S3 came out....... it's hard to go past the price of the obsolete model at the moment. The S4 should be a hell of a phone but while it's nearly twice the price, I'm not sure it's twice the phone.

I was seriously looking at the Xperia phone because it's specs are fantastic but the lack of changeable battery is a big negative for me.

I have the S3 and whilst I've only needed my second battery on a few occasions, one of them was when we was out in the middle of the ocean off Exmouth trying to find our way back to the marina and the GPS on it run the battery dry; yep no more GPS.....!!

A quick battery change and we were fine and got back safely.
The inability to change the battery could have made our situation pretty dire.
I know it's a rare thing but it did save our bacon (quite literally, we were having Pork for dinner that night!!)

fair point, i heard plenty of negative press regarding the battery and that it drains quick but i get a solid 2 days plus from the phone.

Admittedly i am not what you would call a 'power user' and i do use a blackberry between 8-6 on weekdays but i am finding the battery life to be vastly superior compared to my old S2

Having now spent a few weeks with the phone i can comfortably say it's the best phone I've ever owned

I keep getting stuck with sorting them out at work, as a basic phone/sms/email/web device they are ok, if you use a phone for anything other than that they just seem painful.

same with me. always carry the extra battery with my on my cycling trips. the gps will never hold out a full day. would never buy a phone where i couldn't change the battery.

one of the many reasons i moved from apple in the first place.

It's usually just customers screwing them up somehow. When we got our first Lumia 800 phones there was all sorts of trouble with exchange connectivity and phones not updating their software properly, I think most of these issues have been sorted out now. They also have a heavy reliance on Zune (similar to the iPhones and iTunes) which is a little unfortunate.

Get the s3. You won't be disappointed. I won't go back to an iPhone now unless Samsung rest on their laurels like apple did between the iphone 4 & 5.

I'm thinking the Note 3 (which will probably be released by the time my contract is up in a year) might be my next phone. I like the screen size as it still fits in my pocket and thats all that bothers me. Can't really see any reason to go for the S3/4 instead

damn it's tempting to get an s3 for around $350 from kogan but my ace 2 is about to get jellybean.
