Play on the NO.1 forward each week. Pantsed reiwoldt tonight and gave us a bit of drive. No disrespect to my man Jammo but Waite is Clearly our no.1 Defender. He HAS to nget LLoyd next week. HAS to....

Just because he played well on Reiwoldt doesn't mean he'd be a good match up for Llyod. Lloyd is a big boy - he needs Setanta on him. If Mcphee comes in for Lucas then Waite could have a good time driving up the ground.

I actually think that with Lucas out we could play waite up forward next week where we would get more out of him.
Jamo or Irish get Lloyd.

Don't worry I don't think Jammo would be too unhappy with you saying that Waite is our No.1 defender, maybe Thornton might though.

Jammo and Sentana both did okay on Lloyd last year even though he may have kicked 4 - 5 each game. It may pay to use Waite as a forward as he would kick 2 - 3 anyway and I think Waite is better suited away from the goalsquare rather than in it. Waite up forward may give us an edge and another option to kick to, Fisher will be better for his run last night as well.

Waite is a particularly good matchup for Riewoldt. I think Waite is a great defender outside the defensive 50. He occasionally loses his man in the air, or has mental lapses that cost goals when he is close to the big sticks. Outside the 50 though, his man takes him to the ball, and he is usually good enough to win it and then provide us with some drive going the other way. Riewoldt is perfect, considering he likes to run all the way up the wing, and isn't so much of a threat in the goal square.

Lloyd, on the other hand, would just destroy Waite. Too good at working his man under the ball, reading the flight in the air, and too damaging from limited opportunties. Waite should play CHB every week, on the leading forward or link-man. That would be Lucas for Essendon normally. In his absence, he should just set up at that spot and see who comes to him - I guarantee Essendon will want to man him up...

I agree. Will give us another option up forward.

I dunno...Riewoldt had his average game against Waite... I'm not saying he's not a bad matchup, but Waite probably isnt better then any other defender who has played on Riewoldt, considering Roo kicked 2 goals, 2 assisted goals, Plus that selfless no-goal where he handpassed it to Gehrig when he was straight in front, but gehrig fumbled. That's still basically he's average game, with 10 marks. You have to remember that Riewoldt is a more mobile CHF so you don't expect him to kick as much as one who stays inside 50 most of the time.

I reckon the guy who was on Kosi played really well. Kosi had absolutely no effect, full stop.

We could do this, however, i'd prefer him to make CHB his own, and leave him down there next week vs Essendon, no matter who is forward for Essendon. We could have played him at CHF against Richmond last week, but he certainly played 3 quarters down there, and when he did go forward, our backline got pantsed by Richo and Co.

I think waite should be playing at CHB all the time.
He needs to stay in the position to really learn all the ropes etc.
But someone has to work on his attitude. I think his ego gets in his way and effects his performances. He seems to play really well on gun players like riewoldt, but when he's on somebody without a big name he seems to pay them too little respect and thats where his inconsistency comes from. So either he has to work hard on that very quickly or he has to play on the number 1 forward every week, regardless of position/style.

I've agreed with you twice tonight...what's going on??? :p

For mine JW has to play CHF each week

We need to trust Irish, Jammo, Thornton and Bower with the tall fwds

Fish is a 3rd stringer and without a prescence at CHF we just cant penetrate through HF and the ball just keep coming back.
