Jarryd Waite will not take the field against the SYdney Swans this Sturday night. Today at training, he participated in a few motionless handball drills then came straight of the track looking very uncomfortable. He was unable to move freely at all and will be a late rithdrawal from the game.
In good news, Lappin completed the entire training setion and even stayed back to have goal kicking practise at the end. It looks like Lappin could be pushed forward in the absence of Waite to gi9ve us an option other than Fevola.
Most likely Jason Saddington will replace Jarryd Waite. Lapping and Whittnal will play forward to provide us with a target and Saddington McGrath Teague and Thornton will have the duties of matching up Hall Oloughin Davis and OKeefe.
Brad Fisher looks to have recoved from a hamstring strain and was put though many drills testing out his hamstring. He was the hardest worker at training, running in zig zags and tight turns for over 45 minutes. He looked to have close to full mobility. Initially he participated in the short and long kicking drills and looks likely to return next week.
Youngster Josh Kennedy did not train with the main group at all. He did a lot of fitness work including 4 laps around the ground the warm up. The fitness instructer was continuously testing him off the mark, pushing him and it looked like the kid responded. At the end he looked very tired but this will do him the world of good seeing as he missed basically the entire pre season.
Overall, the main group session was very good today, infact as good as its been for a long time. Very vocal, full of run and encouragment.
Hopefully we carry that into the weekend and beat the swans.
GO THE BLUES!!!
