We definitely could of done with his accurate goal kicking that's for sure.

I say yes. We have Simpson down there doing a good job off the half back line, our forward line is pretty messy at times and Walker always seems to lead into the right spots, so I think it's a good idea

Totally agree with Walker playing forward.

Kicked 50+ goals a couple of years back and although I like his occasional dash from defence, gee he can turn it over as well

We all know this is his best possie

Walker IN
Garlett out

We have enough attacking options down back already.

Buckley, Tuohy, Simpson, Yarran etc.

What an overreaction. Yes he missed that crucial goal but he still provides us with a lot. Just had an off night when it came to the final product. Drop someone like McLean or Ellard who contributed 0.

Yep. Would help our structure I think.

Wouldn't drop Garlett yet, he's getting the pill in the right positions. For the love of all things holy, can he please kick the thing in the bloody air though?!

He's played his most consistent footy in defence, and this should be where he stays.
With him, Yaz and Simmo all coming out of D50 it's quite a weapon IMO. Add Tuohy to that that really is our springboard into attack.

Walker disposal from D50 has been very ordinary in atleast the last 10 matches and when he needs to defend you always have to worry.
We need him in the Fwd line like a couple years ago...

Buckley can play down there, Doc will come in, in a couple months or so.

I gotta tell ya I didn't miss walker at all last night. yarran, buckley and simpson provided more than enough run. walker should resume what made him kick 50 goals in 2011. and for the record we need someone who can actually kick up there. it's quite an indictment on the team when your best kick is an 18 year old playing his 10th game.

Way does it matter if we add walker to the forward line and he kicks 40 for the year if our midfield doesn't win enough of the ball and we have 110 points scored against each game?

There are far more important things the club needs to deal with than who is kicking goals. We get plenty of opportunity to score - it's the oppositions scoring that is usually the worry for us.

Yay or nay?

With the way Buckley played tonight, I honestly think you could give Walker a run down forward again.

Would add another dimension against the Bombers....

bit early going with buckley. played a great game but will most likely not play as well as that for most of the year. I do agree when he plays it can free up one of Walks/Yaz to go fwd. Probably more for Yarran going up to the wing/hff than walks as walks can play taller down back.

But definetly at time gives the option of walks going fwd. is a proven goal kicker. Mick loves versatility, just look at last night with Henderson/Rowe/Waite all moving from forward to back numerous times.

Garlett missed 2 open goals and another one from 20 metres out. I'll be POed if we have to carry Garlett because he is too lazy to kick a proper drop punt.

Anyway I would go with this forward line against Essendon.

Garlett Waite Menzel

Yarran Casboult Walker

Yarran and Walker with license to roam. Need more from Waite and Garlett.

Time and again Garlett comes up short in the big moments.

Definitely think Walker should play forward, gives us that extra marking target that we desperately need whilst also being very athletic.

Also think Hendo should stay in defence, Casboult in to play CHF and assist Warnock in the ruck.

Mark my words if Buckley persists as the loose man in the back-line, better teams than Richmond will destroy him. Too short, too light.

Walker is excellent down back. There is room for Buckley to be a key link man a-la Simpson out of the backline, just not as a guy who is going to fill a hole against a leading forward, be third man up in a contest or any similar act.

He has some great attributes which should be used to benefit the team but spare man in defence is not one of them.

Come on, if we won by 10 goals you wouldn't give a shit. He had an off night when in front of the sticks but he still kicked a very good goal which was crucial as to why we got so close. I don't see anyone wanting to drop Waite who was equally as poor in front of goals?

43 goals last season in a very bleak year , Jeffy will be fine.

Seen Garlett go missing far too often to be dismissive of last night. Waite was deplorable in front of goal too but he brought others into the game with his marking and tackling.
