Is Terry Wallace doing to much way to soon? Whilst i agree with nearly all of the delistings ..... its the failure of keeping the wrong players who may be contributing to the teams lack of success and have had plenty of chances to strut there stuff that concerns me most.
I am not a richmond supporter but only getting troy simmonds in the trade period is pretty bad considering the lack of key defenders you guys have. He should have tried for trades with blokes like Tivendale, Chaffey, Hall, or Hilton while there value would still be slightly there (maybe not so much hilton) because if they have a sh(t year next year then he will get peanuts for them. Campbell will be finished soon, Coughlan could be very injury prone, Johnson needs help.... be careful what ever you do Terry its not the Western Bulldogs supporters you have to contend with.
You can never have enough tall defenders. I can almost guarantee that without that little extra experience within the group.. you boys will struggle again big time next year. Sorry to be harsh but i can see a classic case of Malcolm Blight (st.kilda) coming up unless you guys unearth a riewoldt or Kosi or Ball or Dal santo.
Peace out.

There's only so much you can do in an offseason, he does have a 5 year contract

Obtaining decent forwards and ruckman is alot harder to build upon than backmen, you can easily train a player to be a backmen, why do you think many failed forwards end up being backmen?

Regarding campbell, coughlan, johnson etc, picks 1 and 4 this preseason's draft, also include raines, gilmore into the mix in seasons to come, building a strong midfield and will continue too.

and blindy freddy would even know we have a long way to go inregards to becoming successful, so I wouldnt go acting like you have stumbled across this unknown secret.

as for saying wallace has biten off more than he can chew, doubtful, I think its you who has doesnt have the faintest idea. of all those players gone this season name 2 players that should have replaced them or stayed on our list?

For once i wish trolls would actually use their brain before posting

P.S I wouldnt be critising our offseason trades, North Melbourne were dudded big time Nathan Thompson LMFAO! I think laidley has no idea when it comes to list management and i'd even predict the roos to be fighting it out with us down the lower end of the ladder next season :D

Its the mentality of richmond that makes me laugh... i mean keeping Hilton and getting rid of Fleming (only a few years seperating) is ridiculous. If Zantuck goes your backline is ratsh(t. Good start by Wallace ..... oh and Shane Morrison looks the goods doesnt he? another Project player i assume?

blah blah blah blah blah ............... there is only so many players one can get rid of in an offseason dropkick. Hilton has 1 year left on his contract hence why he remained, i would even come to the conclusion that he will be gone at years end too.

Zantuck overated hack, if north want him you can have him would be another great move by Laidley, what a gem he is! As for morrison perhaps Terry sees something obviously you dont in this youngster and the mere fact you even rate Flemming is laughable! proves to me you know jack $hit :D

as i said terry has 5 years moron not 12 months

come back again at the end of 2005

thanks!

amazing how ill informed people can make sweeping statements....

the guy has a five year contract with an obvious plan in place, no one has come out and said we are gonna be top eight material, if you bothered to ask any tiger supporter he/she will tell you there is/will be still much more to be done..

we have 5 picks in the top 20 of the draft, this is not for next year or even the year after but come 2007 is when these kids will hit their straps...

you obviously rate fleming  which really doesnt say much about your knowledge of him as player, geez he might even end up playing with your team(whoever that may be) ;) best of luck there...

i dont think the saints unearthed those players they were there for the taking, thats what happens when you have 2-3 years of crap and have priority picks, so its not as if the saints found these guys under a rock somewhere...

the r.f.c. and the supporters know what needs to be done and it wont happen overnight, maybe its people like you that are a touch concerned that sleeping giant will awake from its 2 decade slumber...

one other thing shark you seem to contradict what you say, in one breath you say that wallet should have got rid of certain players (chaffey, tivendale etc) i would have thought these guys had experience, then down further you suggest that we could do with more experience mate make up your mind...

p.s it seems to me you could be a saints supporter just going by the reference you made about blight and the saints players, if anything we are just following what you guys did, and i think you will find most clubs will follow now and thats to get where you wanna go you have to have some pain to get there... ;)

why don't you update yourself by reading his article of this 16 goal per game plan wich makes sense to me,as far as i'm concerned it's an offence game you should play these days that win you games not a
defence game. the more goals you kick than the opposition wins you the game does'nt it as far as defence that can be ajusted easily.

Have you actually had a sift through who we actually de-listed ?

LMAO if you barracked for Essendon ..... having a shot at our trade performance , by the way , who do you barrack for ?

I sort of admire you for trying to stimulate some form of intelligent debate but our club is not going to be rebuilt in one day .......and , ar .... where do you think clubs get thier players of the future derrrrrrrrrrrrrr , yes , it`s " the draft ".And to have 5 of the 20 or so picks is pretty good isn`t it?

Good try mate but no thanks

Here we go!!

FIrst you question him...

Next you'll abuse him...

Soon you'll target his family...

You blokes are dead set amazing - your ability to drag negatives and degrade people in any curcumstance is quite amazing!!

yetsla your name sounds familiar, i used to live next door to old russian woman of the same name...

yetsla radonovich her name was....surely it cant be you yetta ....could it...

Sharks was just giving his opinion, dont give him a hard time and label him a troll.

We still are thin in the backline. I think that the 5 year contract means that this upcoming year is basically a settle in job. We wont make the finals. Instead, Terry is trying to start fresh with lots of young kids about to come through.

You can only do so many trades and change so many players. Now would have been a good time for Tivendale and Chaffey while their value was still there.

Some good arguments you came up with but next year isnt really a year for us.

i think we would have certainly had chaffey and tivendales name on the table in trade week. but can i just make a point? I doubt there is ANY real trade value in chaffey and tivendale. Bar RFC people, they arent seen as anything more than laughable Richmond players. This sounds harsh yeah, but look at the value carlton got from there players last year when they shipped them out> Matthew Allan->pick 54? he was an All australian ruckman - tivendale and the Chapstick never got close to all australian status.murphy for mcgrath? again i doubt tivendale or Chapstick ever really have been rated a higher player than Murphy. I would have certainly rather seen either of Tivendale of Chapstick go to the saints than Fiora - no matter how skinny his arms may be. Actually ideally, chaffey would have been my preffered option.

On Hall - i think we cant afford to lose him, with a lack of depth in ruck and KPbackman, he will be mister Fix it again next year -and i must admit - he suprised me (AT times) in the backline this year with Gaspers "absence"

love tivvas goals from 50ms! but i think tivva should have a lot more to prove.... most of our players do! lack of confidence may be a big prob in our team. if they can get some confidence into em i think most guys will have huge improvements! i have a feeling we will have a great seaon next year.....and im certainly looking forward to it!
