Tigers plan “record” protest to mark centenary
RICHMOND cheer squad members have announced plans for a “world record” protest in Round 14, as a unique way of celebrating the club’s 100 years in the VFL/AFL.

With the Round 14 clash against Carlton long pencilled in as the match to celebrate the milestone, the Tiger cheer squad said things were shaping nicely for an unprecedented groundswell of fans demanding the coach’s head.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with how events are developing,” cheersquad spokestiger Swiftey Titus told thebladder.com. “After a brief burst of momentum, the side has staggered badly, with thumping losses against the Swans and then Adelaide.

“Next up we have Melbourne at the MCG then Port away. Two losses there and it will be picture-perfect for a disgruntled fan base march to the rooms after the Carlton game, demanding Terry Wallace’s head.”

Titus pointed out that demanding the coach’s head was a long and glorious tradition at Tigerland, even within a year of a grand final appearance, so Wallace had been living on borrowed time for more than three years. “We backed off for a while, to give him a chance to develop some kids, but the games against the Swans and Crows eroded all that patience.

“The way we see it, if Wallace hasn’t won both games heading into the Carlton game, it all starts or finishes right there, in the Centenary Celebration match.

“The club wants 100,000 fans at that game. Well, we want at least 40,000 Tiger fans marching on the rooms, to call for Wallace’s sacking if we lose. That would beat all known records, apart from perhaps the fall of the Berlin Wall.”

The club refused to comment on the planned Tiger lynch mob but did admit it planned to adapt the celebratory and limited edition Guernsey with old-time vertical yellow and black stripes to include blood stains, on the back, in a mark of honour for the traditional coach’s sacking.

What a moronic post. :o
A cheersquad of *******s demanding we spend another 3 years with a Robert Walls/Danny Frawley?

This shits me. Is everyone forgetting that there are 22 players running around, Terry is sitting in the stands watching.

Its funny that in Football as soon as anything goes wrong, everyone jumps on the coach while the players just plod along doing the same old thing.

In the Australian Cricket team (the most successful sporting team of recent times) the captain and the actual players are scrutinised. If Hayden and Jaques are struggling as an opening partnership, then they will jiggle it around. Jaques goes out of the team, or moves position because he is at a lower standard then Hayden.

Richo and Schultz getting in each others way. Schultz gets dropped or he moves position to let Richo move on to his new partner in J Riewoldt. ect.

you do realise this is a pi$$ take...

no but still, what I said was true, everyone jumps on the coach when teams arn't winning games. The coach can't go out there and kick it to the chests of their team mates, put thier head over the ball ect.

Nah i'll leave it up - its pot shots like this from the media that will just make us (the supporters) harder.

Just what will tools like Shaw, Walls, Russell etc say when we come good ?

they'll do what all people like them do

they will take the credit for it

Responsibility goes up the chain of command, not down. If the players are not playing as a team or realising their potential then the coach is to blame.

As for the cricket team, football and cricket are very different. Cricket is more of an individual game. Most of the time it is one batsman against one bowler. Football is a team against a team. A great player can't play well in a shit team, and a team of great players will lose to a great team of ordinary players.

Dont know whats funnier - the article or the response of some posters.

But seriously, I came here to find out if you guys think you are a chance to beat port - I think its the upset possibility of the round, backs to the wall stuff and all that. Might be time for wallace to engineer a win with an ultra-flood or something like that?

Just got sidetracked by the title...

he needs to win this week and i believe he will do it as well if richo plays well and some other players play well i think we can pick up the win
