I like this guy's skills when he gets the ball, however I think it should be tempered by the fact that he is quite slow.

It may be that he's young and his leg strength isn't what it should be, but the times I've watched him (was at the Bulldogs game today) he is quite often found out for pace.

Hopefully, he can find a niche but I don't think subiaco will suit him unless he's a permanent small forward crumbing.

Like DeBoer and Clancee Pearce there's a reason they slid. All 3 have shown good signs though and hopefully in 18 months time will be good AFL players.

Give him a few years, I think its sometimes a good thing if a player can make it without genuine pace, it means he can sometimes stay around a bit longer without relying just on pace.

I think he looks like a decent prospect, only young

Whislt Walters isnt in the Cyril Rioli league of speed I dont think he is exactly slow either. I believe he was one of the youngest draftees last year so I think he is still just finding his feet in the big league.
His foot skills are sensational for a young boy. If he keeps that up his kicking will become elite. If this is so I dont care if he lacks a yard of speed

When you consider he would stil be eigible for this years draft, I think he is going ok. Will be good to see him after 2/3 more preseasons.

Walters is smart and classy. I'll take that any day over and extra yard of pace.

Totally agree. He has a genuine football brain, with some aggression and determined to succeed, just let him find the pace of AFL. You will go a long way to find a better "distributor" of the ball inside 50.

His pace was the main reason why he 'slipped' further than Bigfooty posters thought he would on draft day. Probably because those Bigfooty experts didnt know his speed testing times...

Walters has the nous and skill to be a player although you'd generally like players of that height to have a bit of zip (Sonny is quite the opposite), especially on Subi or if player is not a clearance machine (see Mitchell, Watson, Priddis etc)

At pick 53, definitely worth the punt though.
