Not a good start at his new club for Warnock - a shoulder reconstruction, ankle surgery and now a foot stress fracture, all in the space of a few months. I wonder how long it will take before he realises that his body is not close to being ready for the rigours of AFL? A 211cm, 125kg ruck partner who can take the bulk of the load might be looking a little more attractive right about now for young Robbie than it did a couple of months ago.

you just gotta be suspicious of posters who cant fess up to who they support....come on, exit the closet...

regardless I'm thinking he's still very happy to get out of WA and will shake off this minor setback to become a long term player for our team

Do not fear my fellow Bluebaggers

As I have said previously on other threads, sure we will miss Young Warnock, but trust me he will bounce back and become one of the AFL's premier ruckman by years end, the guy oozes ability. Thats why we chased him so hard.

At the Blues we are full of quality young players, we have replacements like Hammer time Hampson, Cloke and Daggers and ofcourse the Kruise Missile.

I can feel the pain throughout Bigfooty from opposition fans already, Bring on the Footy Season. Go Blues

Here's Hoping :)

I don't believe this,i wrote something early Wednesday morning on Browne,Happy He Stayed A Blue, like a feeling Warnock would get hurt and what happen it happen like usual the day he gets hurt.

Dam this year suck like the year before, the year before that, the year before that, hell **** the Century sucks.

It won't surprise me if we don't make the finals, actually i expect it after the first 9 Days of the year. It's been so far stressful, out of breath and hot and nervous. I say nothing going right, replacing faulty things not once but twice while going out of my way to go there and things getting me Angry.

I'm surprised yesterday some lady didn't freak out when i opened her car door to get in her car. I thought it was my sister car, probably doesn't look like it as the heat and rushing/nerves made me all confused.

This was mid November. No sure which ankle.

But the fact is, and the point is he won't have been doing LOADS of running given that he was recovering from this surgery up until Christmas.

So if the pain is a new pain I wouldn't be too concerned. Probably doing too much too quickly over the break to try and impress his new club.

If its an ongoing thing that has flared up even after a rest period for the ankle I would be more concerned.
He has also broken his big toe in the recent past as well.

with the way they recruited Cousins and tried to break the rules to get him using Polak.

Actually, we asked for the AFL to allow us an exemption to the rules, we didn't attmept to break any rules. When the decision was handed down we moved on.

Hardly breaking the rules.

It's a bit of a setback  for sure, but unlike others who seem to have expected him to dominate the ruck straight away;), I always saw him as a developing tall who was a few years away yet. He has shown glimpses of talent, especially against Essendon, but has never been the No1 and is still very frail. As others have already mentioned, just like Kreuzer and Hammer he is still a work in progress.

I can't see them bulking him up anymore while he is recovering, because it is a stress fracture. You would think the last thing he would need at this stage in his recovery would be more weight to bear when he starts running again.

It will take him a bit to get over this, so we have to be patient with him and not be too disappointed if his first few games for us aren't huge. Reign in those expectations:D

I just want him fit for the Essendon and Saints games. He played well vs both last year, and both of them won out of the ruck twice vs us last year.

Looking at Kreuzer though, I don't think he will be pushed around quite as much this year (actually thought his body work was exceptional against bigger guys last year anyway)

anyone else getting a little concerned about our mounting injury list which seems to be the worst of all AFL teams at the moment. Hope this does not become an ongoing trend for the season.

Get them out of the way now before the real season starts :p;)

Was pleasing to see that Warnock was out in the rehab group today, doing a fair bit of the stationary skills with the rest of the rebah group. As an update, this was the rebah group today:

Scotland - About 2 weeks away from joining in with the rest of the group
Warnock - We already know about
Hartlett - Knee injury. Not that far away.
Fevola - Nothing to worry about. Just having a break from the main session today.
Bentick - See Scotland

Brad Fisher still has his elbow brace on, but did some of the work with the main group, before the competitive stuff started. Looks like he is really putting in some really big sessions this pre-season. I just wonder if Ratts has given him a bake over the pre-season?

Unfortunately didn't everyone win against us in the ruck last year BB:o:thumbsd: It's a shame because we need to get games into him as soon as possible.

Kreuzer does look good and has a good frame:thumbsu: The strength will not only help him with the ruckwork, but his contested marking, which is probably his main weakness, even though his technique looks good (even superman had kryptonite)

Long term with Hammer and Warnock you would think Kreuzer will be a forward for us, which to me is a shame, but he is one of a few players who can actually finish the midfield work. Too many of our current forwards are no better than 50-50 chances shooting for goal (some much worse. Our blokes have to realise that even defensive forwards need to nail their shots as well). Even Waite who is seen by many as the answer can have his Richo moments, although he did do well during Fev's injury plagued season. Hopefully Yarran's misses in the WAFL were due to snaps from impossible angles rather than poor setshots;)

You can argue forever about the mix of talls and smalls, but invariably what premiership forwardlines have had is scoring efficiency. Young Kreuzer just continually confirms to me all the reasons why I have always been sold on him:thumbsu::)

Fair point.

Bulldogs and Lions in round 21 would be the obvious repsonse to that, but I guess what I meant was ruck/clearances.

Simmonds beat us in the ruck, but we still won the clearances. Hille not only beat us in the ruck but they won the clearances from them and it hurt us.......badly........same re Saints........and without this influence we would have won all games IMO.:thumbsu:

Agree re Kreuzer and a forward role long term.:thumbsu:
