Following on from that, if he comes out and nominates a club before the end of the season, it would imply that he has agreed to terms with that club.

Yup. If he does that he is a complete weasel.

You know it was a possible interesting tactical move - now that he has gone in for surgery that means his season is effectively over - he isn't going to change his value by playing, so in some ways it gives Freo a bit more leverage.

I still think he'll go though, he has a reputation for being an arrogant w***er, and this is nothing new.

Lach I don't think anyone has a huge problem with him going home (we've certainly enticed our share to come back here), the problem lies with the fact that Melbourne appear set on sending him to the PSD and screwing us over. If he's happy to be a party to that, then I don't think he will have anyones respect, nor would he deserve it.
Remember Nick Stevens who shafted The Power. In a couple of years it will be water under the bridge.

Looks to me like he will go, and well meh, so be it. Our 2nd ruckman is always going to be just that while Sandi is around anyway right? So maybe this is a reason 2 chuck the last 2 games and hope like hell we can snare Nanatnui. He could provide the ruck back-up and be used as a half/forward wing type when not rucking

sause..
or attach direct quote...

your stupidity is rather amusing to me... keep up the good work :):thumbsu:

He's full of it mate, an earlier comment from leaky douche was that he "hinted" towards Melbourne.
Only a politician would change their story more often... troll of the highest order...

No wonder Warnock wanted his shoulder fixed before moving to Melbourne, look at their team doctor

Quick question. If Warnock goes via the draft does he risk not getting the type of contract he wants?

If you go via the PSD you can stipulate the contract/price on your head you want.

Im a little hazy with the trading rules and his contract, during trade week can we cut a deal with another club or does he have to completely agree to it?

Anyway why not offer him up to Collingwood for Sharrod Wellingham?

Collingwood have made it pretty clear they are looking for a new ruckman and flouted warnocks name a few weeks back... Or Richmond and ask for Rance (I know his folks are in melb but murray travels to and from perth anyway)

Seriously if Warnock is dumb enough to go to a club with Morton and Davey and thats about it, he is a clown...

Anyway im thinking he has already agreed to something with melbourne judging by the fact melbourne have basically told jeff white career over...

Can't recall our club being linked with Warnock. Definitely a race between Freo, Rich, Melb and Carl.

Whilst Warnock is a tempting prospect, we just simply can't afford to part with Wellingham. Is a part of our future midfield and rated very highly within our club. Also is a shoo-in to be promoted at season's end onto the senior list.

I too agree that he has agreed something in principle with Melb, particulalry with Jeff White's career coming to an end. Would be unfortunate for you guys if this is true.

Without wanting to rehash the whole 'will he won't he' argument, there's been a couple of interesting developments in the Warnock saga.

This from Saturday's worst

It is understood Fremantle, who meet Richmond at the MCG today, are confident of re-signing Warnock after recently meeting with him and his manager Colin Young.

:confused::confused::confused:

AFL questions Dees on Warnock

Emma Quayle | August 24, 2008

MELBOURNE has been asked for an official explanation of its meeting with uncontracted young Fremantle ruckman Robert Warnock.

After Dockers coach Mark Harvey labelled the Demons' meeting with the 21-year-old last week an "ambush", AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said he had written to the club to ensure that no official offer had been made to the former Sandringham junior...

From the above, I can only assume Freo has requested the AFL look into the legality of Melbourne's approach. Will no doubt be seen as Freo clutching at straws by outsiders, but I'm pleased to see them trying to protect the playing list and not just being an easy target.

WC were confident about signing Judd all last year according to club officials. So dont think that means much.

If I were Harvey, I'd want to be sure that Freo have not been contacting players mid season or plan to so in the future.

You can approach a player and enquire about their future plans. You just can't offer terms.

Even if Melbourne did mention dollars and the duration of the contract they'll deny it so Anderson is wasting his time.

I heard a bit of Mark Duffield on 6peeeaaarrrr yesterday morning and he was scathing of Chris Connolly. He reckons he is a hypocrite of the highest order. He said that during his time here he continually "squealed like a stuck pig" about people disrespecting Fremantle, and he's gone and done exactly that by making such a formal presentation to a Freo player before the end of the season.

Karl asked the question about whether or not this happens regularly anyway, and Duffield said - well we don't really know the extent of it, but we'd be naive to think that clubs don't enquire to players' managers about whether players would be interested in making a move, but Melbourne got caught making a formal presentation directly to a Fremantle player while Fremantle is still playing out the season. They got caught in the act of disrepecting Fremantle.

You'd have to wonder how well that Con Regan is sitting right now...

Melbourne didn't get caught out. They did it and boldly made a statement that they were going to go very hard for Warnock. They knew what they were doing and happy to let it get out to the media

It's about time the powers that be in AFL House change the rules re: tapping up of players.

We do not want to go down the same path as the NRL, where players switch allegiances mid season.

Big penalties in the EPL seem to have an impact. I know when Chelsea met with Ashley Cole, they were threatend with a loss of points.

If Knockers has any integrity, he will show his hand after we belt the pies.
