so he's not a shit bloke but a bit of a w***er? wtf does that make him then?

Would have thought it was fairly simple.

I can put up with w***ers. All Aussie blokes have a certain degree of w***er about them - it's cultural.

Shit blokes don't generally have any redeeming personality traits and I don't suffer them at all.

You don't have to like him. But you should be able to acknowledge his place as currently the worlds best all rounder.

Errr, no. Just because he's been white hot for 2 months doesn't mean he is the best. Have to go a bit longer than that. He's got a bit to go before he knocks off "guy who can turn matches on their heads single handedly" Flintoff.

Jacques Kallis says Hi

Dwayne Bravo is also in the line to say hi :thumbsu:
Interesting that you bring these three up:

In the past 2 years:-

Flintoff -Bat ave.= 25
= 38

Kallis- Bat ave.= 37
Bowl ave.=31

Bravo- Bat ave. =30
Bowl ave.= 33

Compare those to Watson's figures since he started opening the batting.

Batting average = 63
Bowling average = 30

You do the math.

Jaques Kallis has been an amazing player over the years but hasn't produced as much over the last two years (not withstanding his ton in the current test) as he had in earlier seasons. Bravo and Flintoff are not in the same postcode as Watson currently.

2 months is not enough to be the best all rounder in the game. BTW, how many games has Watson turned or won off his own bat or ball? There's more to form that just stats.

Getting involved in a bit of banter on the feild is far from being soft. As I said before, Watson loves it, feeds off it. He always performs well when teams put him under pressure verbally. That is a soft trait is it? gayle's comments were a bit out of line. They stunk of sour grapes that he was knocked over by Watson.

I have no problem with players engaging in a bit of banter out on the field, happens all the time. It was Watson's childish reaction to Gayle's comments when he got him out that was the problem.

Gayle may have sledged him but he did it discretely without any histrionics, nothing wrong with that. Watson then got him out, and had every right to celebrate with his teammmates, but to stand there jumping around in Gayle's face like a 2 year old was embarrassing and completely uncalled for. His childish send off completely ruined his good work at taking a vital wicket.

That's why Gayle called him soft, because he overreacted to a bit of sledging/banter.

One referral = numerous? Not where I come from. Gayle wasted two referrals in the first test alone. So did Chanderpaul. Clearly they are both soft, not to mention Hussey, Clarke, Haddin etc.

It wasn't just one referral. Watson has referred at least a few decisions that went against him both when he was batting and bowling. In most cases the decision made by the umpire was correct but due to Watson's arrogance and self centred nature he refused to accept the umpire's call and referred it, wasting the teams referrals in the process.

You don't have to like him. But you should be able to acknowledge his place as currently the worlds best all rounder.

Erm no I shouldn't...Watson has had a purple patch lately but he is a long way from being the world's best all rounder. Both Kallis and Vettori are miles ahead of him and have been performing consistently as all rounders for over 10 years.

According to the current ICC Rankings the leading five all rounders are Kallis, Vettori...daylight...Johnson, Swann & Broad.

Got any proof of that?

He was educated at Ipswich Grammar School, he got an OP 5, which is the VCE equivalent of about 90.

He studied Human Movement at University in Brisbane before Tassie poached him down the their shield side when he was 19.

Is that educated enough?

Chris Gayle said it best when he called him soft.

He's killing it on the field atm but as a person I haven't warmed to him, a bit like Michael Clarke.

agree 100%

Don't like those 2, sooky boy Mitchell "my mummy made me play bad coz she went on tv and we ****ing lost the ashes" Johnson and Nathan "shane warne farts better spin deliveries than I ever could in my wildest wet dream" hauritz.

I love Australian and Australian cricket but some of these tossers in the team currently are really shitting me to tears.

Clarke appealing that LBW when he knew he was gone b4 the decision came through made my blood boil

Slight correction. He had a big fall out with Stuart Law. Law didn't think to highly of Watson in the bloke department. Was no coincidence Watson moved straight back to Qld as soon as Law retired.
