Does anybody know what happened to the Waverley scoreboard screen whether it was kept or put in a museum? Just curious ...was thinking of some of the amazing games we played there. The comeback game against St Kilda etc and the last game vs the swines in 1999.

I bought it and hooked it up to my Commodore 64 and dot matrix printer. Even still have the "Big V" too.

All goneski unfortunately.

I wish the stadium would've been kept. The screen was 20 years old by the time Dirty Collo/Nutjob Jacko screwed us all over- I don't see why the screen couldn't have been replaced? After all, look at all the replacement screens MCG and Etihad have had as of late. Even Waverley had the original screen throughout the 70s that was replaced after only 10 years.

Ha ha oh the memories when you look at it though it does look a bit dodge lol

Such awesome memories as a kid going to games at Waverley watching Dunstall kick a bag.

This vid always brings a tear to my eye...

Each time I visit Waverley I still struggle to believe that a vast stadium stood where the surrounding townhouses now sit.

This. Being from tassie and only moving to Melbourne in 2013, i will never forget the first time I saw Waverley, was on the way to play footy against Mulgrave just down the road and got to the corner of Wellington and Jells Rd and could not believe when i saw the top of the SKL stand poking out from above the trees. Just unbelievable to think a 75,000 seat stadium sat 20 odd ks out of the city in the middle of a normal suburb. Having said that living only in Blackburn now I wish it did still exist!

That vid is amazing so well done, can't believe the damage done to it and the growth of the grass...sad ending to a once great stadium...can't believe theres units and whatnot around whats left of the ground.

Interestingly the last game at waverley for me was a pre season game in 2000 against Essendon. Thompson took a huge mark and stuffed his shoulder.

Glad we are at the G, however great memories nonetheless!

Good memory! And we wore those 3/4 sleeve guernseys too!

Definately miss Waverley. Was the first place I watched AFL live as a young fella, and was where we usually went for the next few years when we went down.

Great memories.

The days of sitting in the outer members in the cold to see us get trounced. 15 years or so later and we've won four premierships. That helps make up for it.

For those that don't know, walk around the outer of Waverley and you can see the old guttering of the playing arena- compare that to the size of the current grass oval- it was mammoth!

Well that was my official last game... Not many where there that day.

We looked good that season.. How far we have come though... Amazing

So many memories sitting in the outer in pelting rain watching us get trounced around 1997-1999 era.. I remember the Byron Pickett hit on Brendan Krummel right in front of us, and remember that night was bloody freezing & wet and we went sat up the top of the SKL Stand to get some cover!

But you are right... 4 flags later makes it all worthwhile :D
