Did anyone else catch the Wayne Hughes interview on the radio?

Spoke about new recruits, said they all did their bits and pieces. The development of Josh Kennedy is important for the future of Carlton - very pleased with the way he went, presented very well at CHF - a natural - runs forward and leads, but goes back to goals as well. Let them put Waite down back. Said if Kennedy doesn't mark the balls, no-one else will (good mark, good crumbers).
Ability to have strong forward line. Can play Big Red up there and Waite gives more run out of defence, which will help us.
Defence - Saddington and Whitnall - Kennedy really gives us options. Saddington's first uninterupted pre-season. Lance up and down. Good rotation.
Gibbs - thumb just popped out, and they 'wrapped it up in cotton wool." He's been watching him for 2 years, so he knows the things Gibbs can do but he's sure everyone watchign him was excited.
NExt week can't come quick enough. Bryce is very impressive. Said Gibbsy and Marc Murphy will have a lot of fun together over the next few years. Rotated on ball together. 15 possession for Bryce in first half, 21 for Murphy. Betts had a good game. Walker got a lot of the ball, Cameron Cloke and Ackland were good - recruitment of Cloke so he can give us flexibility - he's a really good kick and very good aroudn the ground. They're happy with picking up Ackland.
Kouta - give him opportunities to play, where it best suits the team, where he plays best. Terrific at the stoppages, adn they'll just look after him.
Competitiveness of Sammy Jacobs - thumb operation yesterday, ready for start of season. Has been outstanding since arriving at the club, very likable young fella, keen to learn, "Gary Dempsey's love child already."
Pratt has addressed teh group on monday morning - the message was to have respect for the club, and respect for where you get yoru pay packet from. Addressed the incidents over the weekend very quickly as well as good publicity, and the positive press about Gibbs and Murphy.
