Carlton is the 2nd ranked team in the afl for attack. If we have livo and thornton we will start winning games. I might b blaming fev but our fwds generally are playing great. 3 players are on 7 goals. BUTwe are 16th in defence due to the fact that we hav had 339 points scord against us. We have the best ruckman going around at the moment and i think we have the most clearences.

And all that doesn't mean squat if you aren't winning games.

Simple as that.

We'll just wait till livo and thronton come back to see how good we are at full strength.

no doubt losing Thornton, and then Livingston has affected the team structure and balance.
The Blues don't have a lot of depth. But with their best team on the field they are top 8.

I know I may cop it a bit but I think saturdays loss was a good one to have, especially against the old enemy.

Yes our wizard cup form was great and it was a pleasent suprise to win it. Personally I didn't think our pre season form would transform in the season propper.

I think we will finnish of with the same record as last year (10-12) the difference is we wont be on the receiving end of the 80-100 point thrashings.

Losses like saturdays can only be taken as a learning curve. Despite what opposition supporters may think we definitely have something special brewing.

Everyone watch the game again. Look at how the ball is kicked into the forward line. It gets bombed in. Whitnall and Fevola aren't 196cm forwards. They can't take screamer after screamer above their heads.

So far this season we've been winning the ball, finding space in the corridor...and then wasting it by bomber to the forwards. Normally opposition defenders get worried to death when they see our players running with the ball in the corridor, but the way we're playing, they know we'll let them off the hook. I don't blame the players (not even Fev), I don't blame the backline, I blame the coach! He has to change his gameplan to suit our strengths or it'll be a long season.

Well our opponents can't keep up this level of accuracy.
15.1 in the second half v collingwood
17.4 the week before.

total for season against 53 goals 21

Your drunk, Oh nar your not ur a richmond supporter

Witty comment.

You are arguing you will be great when you have your best 22.

Id claim the following have a better best 22 than you:

Melbourne
North
WestCoast
Sydney
Freo
Brisbane
Port
Geelong
Saints

Thats over 1/2 the comp. Thus making you below average. For the record

Essendon
Collingwood
Doggies
Adelaide

The above could very well claim to have a better 22.

You don't even know what a good list looks like Bentleigh. Bulldogs have only one decent tall on their list. That's why they've been stuck on the arse-end of the ladder for the last 4 years. You obviously know nothing about footy with comments like that.

What have I said that outlandish?

You have singled out the Doggies. I didnt say the Doggies were better than you -

Essendon
Collingwood
Doggies
Adelaide

The above could very well claim to have a better 22.

And the Dogs being bottom couple for so long has and is paying off. Cooney, Ray, Griffin, Murphey, Hahn and co. will see the Dogs with a bright future.

They're all midfielders. A side can't go anywhere with just midfielders. Even West Coast look better in the key position department.

What do you mean "even West Coast"? WCE are short on for the flag!

The still have Harris, Rawlings & Grant. Williams could be anything.

If anything you have a similar list to the Dogs. Not better.

Grant is finished, Rawlings is a lose defender playing out of position. Fair call on Williams. Harris is alright but won't be back until 2006.

Compare those to Carlton's talls: Fevola and Whitnall are proven forwards. Thornton is an 'A' grade defender. Livo has defencive capabilities much like Harris and Norman has all the tools to be a gun defender.

And don't worry about West Coast. If they make the top 4 I'll get a sex transplant.

@ Funkalicous.

Where would you rate Carltons list compared to the other 15 sides for 2005?

Below Brisbane, Melbourne, Port Adelaide St Kilda ad Fremantle in terms of good team balance. Given we have a full list in from.

For depth, below Brisbane, St Kilda, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, West Coast, Kangeroos, Melbourne and Geelong. Which is pretty evident so far this season.

For potential, below St Kilda and Melbourne.

That's a fair assessment IMHO.

Don't forget we're still team building and I think we have the youngest list in the AFL. I think we can't make the finals but as long as some of the young kids keeping getting game time (Like Eddie Betts) than we'll be okay, but I'm not looking foward to the next fortnight that is for sure.
