Too many players who lose their nerve when the pressure is on.

Moran - should never ever be picked again. Soft and lacks intensity.

Stiffy - lost all compoure when he has the ball

Symes - pace kills him. too slow and cannot kick.

Doughty - makes mistakes under pressure.

We need to bring in the kids and weed out Moran, Doughty and Symes who always seem to fail under pressure.

FFS at least Danger and Mackay have a friggin dip.

Our "always hard at it, never walk away from a battle" stigma - which was well-founded - has been well and truly smashed this year.
Unfortunatly this appears to be the case with each passing week.

I guess some of that comes with the inexperience that we have in the side. However, there are some things that not acceptable. Brad Moran, for all his potential, he really should quit now and take up ballet! For a big boy he sure as hell dances around too many contests like a ballerina.

I thing bigman is tough on some players. I thought Symes played pretty well and didn't **** up with his disposal.

Doughty did a bloody good job on Power who always stiches us up.

The players I would be questioning are more along the lines of Reilly (he stunk it up big time tonight). Johncock ****ed up a few times but lets be ****ing real here, the number of times that the ball was coming cleanly into our forward line, well anyone would have ****ed up. Seriouly, we were under siege and before we start having a crack at our defenders, lets look at whats happening further up the field.

As I said last week, its not the kids that are dragging us down, but its the "backbone group" thats killing us. Nathan van Berlo is just having a shithouse year. He gets his kick smothered at least twice a game that breaks all the momentum.

To focus on the positives, from the youngsters, I thought Mackay played an absolute ripper.

Symes was good tonight. He'll probably feature in my BTM votes. He had 100% disposal efficiency to half time and got a fair bit of the ball.

I keep holding off from tearing strips off Doughty but I think it was his 20m hospital handball when he was 80m from goal that did me in tonight. Brisbane players madly streaming back hoping to plug gaps, and us with a huge oppurtunity to kick long before we get there - so Doughty handballs to a huge pack of players 60m out. The handball was terrible, just absolutely terrible, but the worst part of it is, even if the handball had gone exactly where Doughty had wanted it to go, it would STILL have been a horrendous option! People were down on him last week but I actually didn't mind his game. This week he was absolutely awful.

Stiffy makes me want to cry. All the talent in the world and one of our best users of the ball, and tonight he simply could not hit a Crow if his life depended on it. He was probably Brisbane's leading goal assist player.

Moran will not be in the side again for a very long time.

RE: Doughty - what did it for me was his 3-bounce half-jog towards fifty with minimal pressure that ended with a soft 35m floating pass to a contest in the pocket.

That whole play epitomises Doughty. Finds space, gets the ball, but as soon as has to make a decision he rarely makes the correct one.

Starting with the positives, Stiffy, Mackay was the major positive. He played a beauty with his blistering pace and excellent usage of the ball. Best player for us without a doubt.

Dangerfield is showing some signs that he will be a great player for Adelaide. It's not quite all there yet but when it does, he will be an absolute gun.

Now back to earth with the negatives.

I thought I'd never see the day a Crows team would do this under Craig, but

WE WAVED THE WHITE FLAG AND SURRENDERED ONCE AGAIN

That 2nd half was a weak-kneed yellow-bellied gutless performance - again.

We went from virtually 4 goals up and dominating to 6 goals down and looking like rabble.

I found their pathetic capitulation after half time once again totally unacceptable.

I have to disgree with you about Stiffy and Doughty though. These two cost us a swag of goals with their constant turnovers from skill errors or wrong choice of options. If you've recorded the game Stiffmeister just have another look at these two - their errors coughed up a heap of goals.

In fact I would rissole Doughty - he's not going to be part of a better future and his errors spread through the side like a cancer.

Stevens is also only a shadow of the player he was before he was pole-axed.

Finally, I'm not sure who is more confused about our game plan - the players or Craig. Either it stinks or the execution of it stinks - or both!! :thumbsd:

Too many players who lose their nerve when the pressure is on......
Largely due to a young team; will get worse before it gets better with McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards nearing the end of their careers. I'm puzzled that you can rate Symes poorly though.
Brisbane is about two years ahead of you on the rebuild and were at home. The result was predictable.

Our "always hard at it, never walk away from a battle" stigma.....
Try the word 'trait'. A 'stigma' is defined as "something that detracts from the character or reputation of a person, group, etc.; mark of disgrace or reproach".

haven't we been heading to this point for quite sometime. We have failed to recruit "football tough" players for years.

Have fixed that in the last few years with Danger, Ottens McKay and even Porps.

These guys will be our best players by the end of next year.

Just goes to show how much of the game is played between the ears.
I loved our first half, the numbers we had at the drop of the ball, every player running to help each other, every time a Lions player had the ball they had to contend with a "murder of crows"
It was reminiscent of some of our better years except for:
our "capacity" to apply scorboard pressure when we had the ascendancy!
our "capacity" to apply a consistent effort over 4 qtrs!
our "capacity" to maintain a mental focus or interest after half time!

Unfortunately we won't be remembered for being good in the first half as opposed to the Lions who will be credited for being great in the second half.

If I had to take any positive, it is that we;

Do have the potential to dominate a game and once our younger stars get some games under their belts.
They will start returning a consistent physical and mental effort.

Until then- wheres my valium?:o

Agreed chose athletes over footballers .......look how hard it was for Porplyzia to get recognised ....it took comments from John Cahill before the penny dropped

I agree we need more grunt over the ball and less dancing around the fringes
