Hooray, England have beaten the Sri Lankans in the 2nd Test chasing 161 to win we did it for the loss of 7 wickets with your very own (half)Aussie Craig White hitting the winning runs.If we can pull off a victory in the final Test it will be our 4th series win in a row & will further increase the sides confidence & belief before the 'unbeatable' Assies come over in the summer-& I can tell ya I'm looking forward to that series so much, if I can't get to any of the Tests I'm definitely going to some of the county games & I'm gonna give Glenn McGrath heaps of abuse!

dipper (ill ignore your comment about Glenn McGrath

)- I think what Ive noticed about each team that lines up to play us, is the confidence, keeness etc etc to have a crack at the champs, and it just seems that like india is doing currently, these teams just eventually break under the mental strain that the aussies apply, and things tend to go from bad to worse, as steve and his men start to reduce opposing sides to a complete rabble. I seriously cant see England doing much better. However, congrats on beating the Lankans, who I must admit I hate alot more than the Poms

Hey Arch I can understand you're reluctance to believe that the Aussies will be unduly inconvenienced by the English & you're probably right BUT it is the fact that we're beating teams in conditions in which they are the better side & doing it by chasing totals on the last day that makes me think that although we're not an overly talented side we are now mentally harder than the likes of India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka/Windies & are pshychologically now ready to go toe to toe with the Aussies in the close games, but talk is cheap so all we can do is wait for Aussies to swagger into town in the summer & see what happens.

Dipper the problem is that there will be no close games to go toe to toe with.

Your poor attack will get hit out the ground by the best batsmen in the world and your pethetic batters will have to face the wraith McGrath Gillespie Warne and maybe even Lee. I think it may be a worse whitewash than the windies.

Ahhh im just having a dig, i think you will be competitive but no match for the world beaters.

hmmmmm- I was considering coming back and deleting my post above- the first time I post on this board in about a month, and look what happens

At the time of writing, we only have to score at a rate of 5.71 per over for the remaining 63 overs to win it. This would be the biggest miracle ever.
