We have matched up on them recently pretty well even though we haven't beaten them. Thursty always seems to shut down Reiwoldt and Mcguane or Rance can take Kosi. Graham and Patto can do the job on Gardiner and McEvoy and we have enough hard midfielders to win the centre breaks. We may go in with a short forward line also and have the advantage at ground level. Saints are getting closer to a loss every week. I reckon we'll do ok :thumbsu:

u say it every week i guess when u get one right u can always make it sound like u told us so... aslong as we ignore the 20532534 u get wrong ..

Fingers crossed..

We need everything to go right. Forward line will have to have a day out.. we'll need to shut down Goddard, Gram and Montagna off half back or we'll get slaughtered.

Reiwoldt and kosi are the worry.
I'm not sure our backs are big enough to handle them.
remember the Port game and what Tredrea did to us.

Thurstfield will cover Roo fine and McGaune will take out Kozi, its that Tiprat Milne I'm worried about. His 7 goals last year were the difference in us making finals or not. Jacko should be able to take Dal Santo but Montanga is the real worry in the middle.

They are both pretty good playerss as much as I hate them, Milne esspeacially.

Traditionally we go down to very hard well disciplined teams and I cant see this weakend being any different. Our record against St Kilda in recent years has been deplorable. How many years since our last win?

Yes we can

Saints although have been winning games they havent been winning them convincingly.

Just beat Essendon
just beat Brisbane
Got over the top of an undermanned and injured Kangas in th elast 1/4 (17 players)
If it wasnt for the 5 goal start on Friday could have easily lost

They look a tad tired and they will have the big one on their mind Geelong week after...

We are on a high, and have to get team putting in 100%...

Can be done...

Thursty on Riewoldt
McGuane on Kosi
(Rance 3rd man up helping them both out all night)
Polo on Montagna or Gram
Jackson on Dal Santo
Edwards on Milne?

And we will be a very good chance

we need a miracle against the saints guys! they really have to be off their game to be beaten against us. their game style is exactly the one we get creamed against... im really worried about the turnovers were gonna do against them :o

but then again... funnier things have happened....

If we play 4 quarters of footy like we did in the first against the Weagles then anything is possible, consistancy is key from now on.

No we can't..

We just scrapped over the line against 14th place on the ladder. That is the perfect preparation for Number 1 on the ladder and undefeated after 12 games St Kilda.

I'm sure the weekend off will be in our favour as well and not theirs.

This thread is ridiculously optimistic!!!!!!!!!!!

You have No faith. You said we'd lose to Dockers by 40 points even though we're a better team :o

In answer to the question posed... No, I fear not.

However, I am much more enthusistic about a competitive showing now with this line-up & new coach than I would have been with our outfit 2 weeks ago!

Grant Thomas has said a few times that the Saints loved playing against the Tigers because we were the softest team in the comp and they always knew that a bit of physical pressure and we would go to water and sadly I agree with him.
For years the Daints have mauled us and out muscled us.
They have no fear against us at all
I just hope Jade has een that footage and plays it to the boys before the next game.
Maybe and I mean maybe we would then be an outside chance of a win.

yep, i don't fear this game, not bc i think we have a chance, but bc we have nothing to lose, just looking fwd to watching our young guys have a crack and truly see where we are at.

I say go head to head with them, we keep banging on about how good we think our midfield is: foley vs Ball, Tuck vs Hayes, Deledio vs Goddard, tambling vs montagna, Jackson vs dal santo. Cousins vs Ray, rotate cotchin through there too.

We need to work out who will stand milne and the other bloke from sydney, those two are a lethal small fwd combo and our biggest weakness is containing these types.

bring it on
