News WE got Warnock !!!

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Just accept your purple club got bent over once again ..it wouldn't be trade week without Freo getting shafted :D
I'd imagine carlton will be very unpopular in western australia. I guess you won't care if you end up building a premiership side, but i wouldn't expect to many favours from wa sides in the future.

I hope Warnock becomes a good player for carlton. Having said that, i still hope Sandi smashes him in the ruck.

Personally I'm wrapped.

We add talent where we need it, and he's the right age. We don't need another half a dozen 17 year olds just entering the system now. We want a guy who can develop along with Murph, Gibby, Hampson and young Juddy, and build towards a flag.

Now start thinking of the possiblities...Warnock, Hampson and Kruezer all in the same team and terrorising opposition rucks in two years time. Cloke get's a crack at CHF, and if nothing else will provide a big target, and draw a big defender away from the Fev zone.

Kruez shoulders less responsibility, and can develop at his own pace. We have the luxury of leaving him up forward for greater periods of time.

Never again will we suffer the ignomy of having to recall Cain Ackland.

Now with three developing big men on the list we need to target the best ruck coach in the land and get him down to Princes Park. Any suggestions?

played 1 games this year... do you think his "incentives" were to play 21 games in the reserves???

Oh my mistake....the incentives for a 3 year contract would be entirely based on the last year, wouldnt they. The reason i asked for confirmation was because i thought someone who had real information might reply.

Incentives can include other factors....im praying hes gone but worried he isnt. Cant wait to hear the delistings, if not o'keefe who should we get in PSD..assuming we take someone

Welcome to the mighty Blues Robbie Beanpole......sorry....Warnock!

In all seriousness, will he be ready as our #1/#2 ruck come round 1 against Bitchmond (barring injury or a mishap of course)?

As one of the WABlues I can tell you we had thousands of people wanting to come to rnd7 this year. Next year there will be more again
Turn up at the Odin when we are playing and there is always hundreds watching it with us. Die hard fans and those who are turning their backs on the crap Eagles and Dockers returning to their original team

I'm with you Doza, don't like it at all.

Pick 6, 40 and 69 in the draft, no very smart IMO.

I guess now I'm going to have to start liking Warnock

True, but close your eyes for a second, taking with them an image of our statistics for hit-outs last season....

now imagine Warnock is in the ND.........but he is 206cm, 95kg version instead of 206cm, 45kg version...

WH:

Pick 6 - Jack Ziebell
Pick 24 - Robert Warnock
Pick 40 -?

Now open your eyes..

happy much??

We'll cope.

Mate, aside from drafting, player trading is the only way for clubs to get a competitive advantage against one another list-wise. Very rarely are trades exactly equal, and if you find yourself in a position to exploit a situation to your own advantage then you're stupid if you don't do it.

And i guess you can be forgiven for not agreeing with this (as a freo supporter), but what goes around generally comes around. We got nailed when Hammill left, but we've got a bit back with the last couple.

If your recruiters were smart they'd be sniffing around all of the WA boys living/playing in SA, Vic, Sydney and Qld on a regular basis....

One minute worth pick 6 and full of potential and now you got bent over he's a dud......hilarious!

He was never worth 6.

He aint a dud.

We blinked but it is hardly being bent over ...I'd say if we had got 40 it would have been breakeven. One round later (the later upgrade is almost funny but I think it shows who had the upper hand) definetly advantage you.

Disagree with those of you doubting this trade. Watched almost all of Fremantle's games and this bloke is the real deal. Good deal by the best football department in the business.

Now I wonder what O'Keefe will do... Maybe the Roos outburst at the end of the season did have a reason after all.

You guys are rebuilding, last chance before GC17......3, 21, 24 and the rest of your picks are what you needed..

we finished 15th or 16th for hit outs last season, Warnock addresses a need.

It is an ok outcome for both parties

I guess, just not sold on the big fella.

Anyway, I'll be the first to admit it was a profitable trade if this does turn out to be the right call, right now though I'm sticking to my guns, i don't like it.

EDIT:GRRRRRR, then scroll down to robbie and
THEN

read the bottom.

OMG lol i started reading this

He was one of Fremantle's best in the club's historic first final against Essendon in 2003. But a week later he would need his third reconstruction after injuring his knee playing for East Perth in the WAFL Preliminary Final. He returned late in 2004 to play two games, and has chalked up a further 20 in the past two seasons to take his overall tally to 26. A popular and respected member of the Fremantle playing group, he took out the Best Clubman award at the 2006 Doig Medal presentation dinner.

and was like WTF!!!!!!!

and then realised that was luke webster :D:D:D thank god!

I'm picturing Ayce Cordy with some added bulk....

Pick 6 - Jack Ziebell or Hurley
Pick 24 - Ayce Cordy on steroids - Warnock
Pick 40 - ?

Very good recruiting by the Blues.

For all the sh!t everyone gave freo, they did pretty well. They were in a tough position with a player nominating a certain club and they got 24 and 56, in a year where there going to pick up 8 players in the draft, strong draft year aswell.

shouldnt have given up pick 56
Not a fan of 69?

Goes alright on Redtube with six girls playing twister.
I guess, just not sold on the big fella. Plus we lost our 3rd rounder for a 4th rounder which we will have to use, not ideal dropping 13 spots.

Anyway, I'll be the first to admit it was a profitable trade if this does turn out to be the right call, right now though I'm sticking to my guns, i don't like it.
We kept our third round selection (pick 40) and gave Fremantle picks 56 and 72 for pick 69. ;)

You wouldn't want to miss out on another Dalziell with pick 56 when we're just as likely to get him at 69. ;)

We wouldn't have used pick 72 anyway.

And there's a good chance 69 will come down a bit when the top sides won't be cutting their list that deep.

Warnock for 24 and 56 is a great deal when we kept pick 40.

My gut says pick 40 was the sticking point with Fremantle and they were hoping we'd blink first. ;)

I agree, Freo and WCE supporters are just jealous of carltons recruiting. I am sure if someone like buddy wanted to head home, we would do whatever we could to get him as cheaply as possible.

I think our recruiters did as best they could, I am sure we would have sounded out the wa boys about coming home. J Carr and J Farmer are just a couple of the wa boys we have convince to come home in the past.

Hopefully Warnock will work out better for us than J White did. Our supporter will probably be even more bitter if 24 turns out to be a dud, sandi gets injured and Warnock goes on to be one of the best ruckman in the competition.

Well done on recruiting Warnock. I look forward to watching sandi vs Warnock in the future.

If you had pick 6.........good pick.....knew you would get a "Warnock" type with demonstrated ability (though limited) to play senior level at pick 24, and still had your next pick at 40......would you really be upset?

They way I see it the player we take with 24 is no more likely to do what Warnock has already done. It strengthens our ruck stocks to the point where we have some strength (Lions-esque) in future trade weeks........

I know we could have done with that key forward, but maybe with Kreuzer and Cloke going forward more we won't need it.

I think both clubs should be happy.
Freo got more than we first offerred, and we got a ruck capable of holding down the number 1 spot (hopefully) for pick 24 and some freebies.:thumbsu:

This also means we need a minimum of 5 delistees.
3 ND picks (6, 40, 69), Jammo elevated, Warnock.
Maybe 6 spots if we use the PSD for one of ROK, Lovett, Harris.......? others ?
